I am wondering why they can't get quiet cameras. I have an inexpensive digital and it's quiet!

Film cameras provide much higher quality pictures than even the best digital cameras. Plus you can take pictures much faster with film than with digital. No matter how good digital gets, it will never fully replace film.

I hate to be dumb. But is the platform going to turn or lower?

That's a temporary platform. It will be removed. The grave is below the large concrete platform that the stand rests on.

I'm presuming he will be buried in the earth.

Yes.

Someone once said "all great love affairs end tragically"...especially when one dies before the other.

I was doing pretty good after losing it until I saw Mickey Rooney salute -- did me in again.

There is nothing more beautiful than a California sunset IMHO.

THe last line is really poignant...

Jesus says, Fear not, for I will pilot thee...I cry every time i sing it.

Who was the bald man who just saluted?

If it was the shorter gentleman ... that was Mickey Rooney.

I hope this beautiful sad day sustains us in the ugly months to come. We need to remember this. Ronald Reagan served us well and no more wonderfully than today. This was an incredible gift to us of dignity, love and faith. I feel privileged.

The noise was from the shutter. I doubt you have a digital SLR.

Do you think Ron was making the comment about "wearing his religion on his sleeve" about his brother Michael?

Absolutely!

Ronald Reagan never hide his Christianity and I don't think Ron read very many of his father's speeches to make that statement!

I was very saddened that Patti and Ron did not include Michael in that hug that they rushed to give their mother. Neither inherited their father's large heart and capacity to love.

Will it become chic here in Hollywood to vote Republican this year? I hope so.

Does anyone know if C-SPAN will re-broadcast the California portion of the ceremonies? Please don't direct me to the C-SPAN website--I've never been able to figure it out (the way they post their schedules, I mean).
