My father loves working on his lawn....what advice would you give on using ammonium nitrate...how much to use, how to apply, how often...just curious.
It's been years since I have used it so I don't remember at what rate I spread it. One thing I do remember is to water heavily after spreading, it's a pretty powerful chemical. Seems like I put it out once in the spring and then once again in late summer. Your lawn should be pretty clear of weeds because if not the weeds will grow like crazy also. After I used it my lawn was extremely green and thick. I would not recommend using it more than twice a year because the only nutrient you get from it is nitrogen, in fact it's probably not good to use more than once over the space of 2 - 3 years, but it is good for building up a good thick turf.
