Well .. the Reagans had prepared a seating chart .. so I'll just chalk it up to decorum .. and not that Clinton was being honored.

Note the contrast in the photos. The cop and the older couple in front showing respect. The slime in the background doing what they do best...being the exit end of a digestive system.

It made the Reagan family laugh .. I believe that was one of Bush's goals.

I saw it, but I thought that was his fake sincere look. He ended up looking goofy. 92 posted on 06/11/2004 10:22:34 AM PDT by Ima Lurker

NOT AS GOOFY AS YOU LOOK!!

YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO LURKING.

It just confirms how disrespectful they are to Bush.

The Toon may have been rendered unconscious when Mulroney slapped him with the descriptions of leadership.

Or maybe the toon grasped the utter failure of his life and like a possum slipped into momentary unconsciousness to escape the danger.

Shyeah. Like I'm living in terror of the sorts of losers who'd actually protest a friggin' funeral. :)

If NV could get $300k for a SF it’s not unreasonable to assume that a TH could go for $200k.

I saw it and immediately concluded that Clinton was reflecting on how his presidency had differed from the ideal that Mulroney described. I don't think he was asleep.

Why must we act like little people? That has been the opposition; it would be nice to keep it that way.
I have my own thoughts about why Clinton had his eyes closed. It was not sleep, but this is not the time and place or the occasion to discuss it.

Today is the day to honor a special man. I'd rather focus on that.

They both did it at the same time;

I think they both had to take drugs just to sit next to each other.

I asked my wife the other day, "What do you think Bill and Hillary talk about over the dinner table at the end of the day?" Then we busted out laughing. We can't picture them even standing the sight of each other, much less sharing a roof.

PS - I think Billy boy had to take ludes just to get through all the talk about Reagan revering the nobility and dignity of the office. Must have put pictures of stains swmming in front of his eyes and a clench of shame in his gut. Everyone listening knew one president who did the exact opposite of what Reagan did, and they knew where he was sitting.

I was in a network (ABC-TV) affiliate newsroom in a top 10 market and when shot went to The 'Toon, everyone started yelling, "He's asleep. Big night last night. Sure wasn't with Hillary, etc."

There was a very funny moment during the choirboys/choirgirls singing when Bill and Hillary were both bobbing their heads to the music like bobbleheads. It's like they were trying to "groove" with a 19th century English church anthem! Hillary looked like a humorless robot. Bill was at least smiling.
