LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
"Different words than I have ever heard..."
Lots of words have been set to that music, including a very ugly version from Germany during the 40's.
There must be, there has to be a recording to be offered, gov. I want one.
Exactly!
Republicans didn't object to say, Mondale running on continuing Wellstone's politics, or people talking about what Wellstone stood for. What was offensive about the Wellstone fune-rally was all the chanting and screeching "we will win." And nobody said that Carter and Clinton couldn't attend Reagan's funeral, the way Dick Cheney was disinvited from Wellstone's memorial; Carter and Clinton just weren't asked to speak. As usual, the Democrats distort the issues here.
No I'm getting it on Fox...it is in the churchs sound system.
WE ALL BREAKING UP? I HOPE SO.
I sure am. Mercifully.
Yeah I'm a gonner. I haven't felt this sorrowful, yet proud, even hopeful in a long time.........and then there is tomorrow and the DU's will be back in full force. I wish I could hang on to this feeling, Pres. Regan did instill a feeling of hope even watching him in death......amazing.
She is the incarnation of "inappropriate."
It's something of which Reagan would approve, I'm betting. At least for today.
My late Dad(also born on Feb. 6th) was a fierce Conservative and started talking about him as a future President before he became Gov. of CA. My Mom found a picture of them at a Regan rally with her holding a sign that read "Reagan makes the world go 'round".
YES....and it would be nice if those here acted like Ronald Wilson Reagan did.....positively.
I think your son has put into words exactly what we in this country have needed desperately. President Reagan's passing has reminded us of the greatness of our country.
We've been bombarded by negativity for so long, from all sides.
Who's gusto? And can our feelings of caring or not caring be shared? I so badly want to do the right thing.
His presence is felt here. Not a field for miles around is being worked this morning. Hay for miles lies untouched; every rancher is paying tribute to this great man. I never thought I would see something like this. It's as if nothing else matters but to honor his greatness and his faith.
ANTHEM, NICK GLENNIE-SMITH SUNG BY THE ARMED FORCES CHORUS WITH THE US MARINE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
To fallen soldiers let us sing Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing Our broken brothers let us bring To the Mansions of the Lord.
No more bleeding, no more fight No prayers pleading through the night Just divine embrace, eternal light In the Mansions of the Lord.
Where no mothers cry and no children weep We will stand and guard though the angels sleep Through the ages safely keep The Mansions of the Lord.

Sunrise over Moscow at this time.
Ronald Reagan was the Right Man at the Right Time.
The honor guard is beginning to enter the cathedral.
I don't know...it was looks like the song was a foreign thing to them...
kind of a buzzing electronic noise? It's on Rush's radio broadcast too, and I heard it on the Fox coverage of the procession to the Capitol.
