It was only as his light started to fade, that Patti began to acknowledge her father's I read in one of Patti's books that she felt, growing up, that her parents had so much love for each other that they didn't have any left over for their children.

My gosh, the Clintons should be slipping down in their seats. But with no conscience, they will miss the message.

invoking terror, 9/11, as darkness -- darkness is real and can be terrifying
Dems are going to go nuts!
To: Graymatter
That is a stoned look.
That's the "stoned look" for most people who get stoned. For him (whose name I won't speak) it's the "this isn't all about me, so why do I have to be here?" look.

Alan Colmes show last night complaining about how the pubs have politicized the death This is partly his job on the show -- to be the polar opposite of Shawn -- but I'll tell him the same thing I posted for Jimmy Breslin: compare this with the Paul Wellstone funeral and get back to me.

"Did Clinton bring his book into the service?"
Yeah, but someone thought it was his Bible. I heard a quote from Reagan yesterday: (paraphrased)
"being a politician is wonderful - if you are successful you have all these benefits. If you disgrace yourself you can always write a book."
Very prophetic.

Any dry eyes... Not here.
Anyone that can listen to a decent rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic and not cry is either dead or anti-American.
I remember the Brits played that song right after September 11 and I cried bejeesus then as well. I recall that deep and glorious pride in knowing that America was all that it was cracked up to be and even if for one day only, the rest of the world freaking knew it.
Suppose the world had lost us? The Battle Hymn spoke musically that we were still here and mad as hell.
This being, you should smile, just my interpretation.

I wish Fox would show one hour of Reagan talking...no commentary. Let Reagan speak for himself. Let Reagan speak to my kids who didnt know him. Let those who have only gotten snippets about Reagan by the Old Media hear him in his own words.
Reagan in his Own Words: 60 minutes of Truth.
Fox, how about it???
