It is good to see and to show the world that we Americans still do know how to show respect. This is inspring yet humbling at the same time.

CNN: Among those who won't be attending is French President Jacques Chirac, who was in Georgia for the G-8 summit but opted to return to Paris.
France will be represented instead by former President Valery Giscard d'Estaing.

ABC radio says there will be a number of religious speakers.. or readers. Including some muslim leader.
There's an obvious imam in the procession, along with a Orthodox priest and a rabbi.
Reagan freed a lot of Muslims from "official atheism" when the Soviet Empire disintegrated.

Clinton again has that look on his face as he did at the 9/11 service. To me it says "I wish it were me in the limelight".

I thought it was Saturday, too, but on LKL earlier this week, they said Sunday... and then I saw an article that mentioned Brit and Chuck Norris, the actor, would be with GHWB on the 13th for his jump.

The late president was Presbyterian and they do not do that at funerals. I'm guessing that one reason is that Presbyterians begin communion with an admonition that anyone not in communion with the Lord and his fellow man should not partake. Too many people at a funeral would not be believers and the situation would be awkward.

"Question on the service men that carry the casket. I keep worrying that those gloves would make it slippery - do you suppose they have rubber palms or something? Surely not just smooth cotton."I was sent an e-mail last night that was telling what was required to be a guardmans of the unknown soldier. I couldn't believe all the requirements but one of the things it said is they dampen their gloves so they can keep a grip on the rifle as they change it from hand to hand as the go around as the rifle is always to be to the outside.
