I have one question to ask which has been kind of bugging me. Where is Jane Wyman? I know she was Ronald Reagan's first wife and IIRC, she is the mother to Maureen and Michael (adopted) but I haven't seen hide nor hair of Jane Wyman. Is she going to any of the funeral speeches?

Well, if someone had asked this before, I apologize and I also apologize in advance if I posted this under the wrong subjects but I'm sure the mods will fix it. It's just been nagging me and I was wondering if any of yuns might know.

I read somewhere that she was ailing and would not be at any of the services.

First wives don't go to husbands funerals. And isn't she dead?

Someone else asked that and it was said that her response was, "I am old now and our marriage was so long ago."
She probably realized that the love story was Ron and Nancy's, as she had gone on to another, happy marriage of her own. I think they were only married about 3 years.

I did not hear why. Maybe because they divorced?
BTW, was Reagan the only divorced President? I can't think of another off the top of my head.

I heard (on Fox) that she had made a short visit to the Reagan Library when he was there earlier this week, but I could be mistaken.

I've always thought Jane Wyman a very classy lady. Never opened her mouth once about what happened between her and Ronny. Very, very classy.

So tell me, once a child is adopted does it follow their name in parentheses their entire life. Is she never just his Mom?

If you watch the tape of the arrival of the Reagan family at the library on Monday, very carefully, you will see an older woman standing near the doorway, in the shadows with a military escort. I was racking my brain to think of who that would be, and I wondered if it was Jane Wyman. The next day, another freeper (wish I could remember who) said it that it was indeed Jane Wyman.

First wives do indeed go to the funerals of their former husbands--Cher, to mention one.
