Posted on 06/10/2004 2:28:07 PM PDT by alisasny

Alot of dignataries are now showing up to pay respects. McCain, Guiliani, Gorby, Karzai, etc.

Cspan has live coverage. Bush expected at 7 but could be earlier? He is then going to visit with Mrs. Reagan.

Guard changes about every half hour at .28 and .58 of the hour. One is going on right now.

That's what I read here, but I

I think I understand now.

The way he smoothed it so fast kind of bothered me. And then they high tailed it out of there. Quickly. I can see now that he probably didn't want to start sobbing in front of the world.

How much do you want to bet there are political calculations going on right now at the Kerry Compound over the photoop benefits of a kerry appearance at the capital.

Kerry blew it when he failed to make the vote on the Senate resolution. THAT was the appearance that counted. Anything done now is strictly a photo-op and a slap at us all. If it didn't disrespect Ronnie, everyone should turn their back when he arrives. Maybe he will slink in at 3 AM or something.

Ha! When I read about how the dignitaries had to run for their lives during the false alarm the other day, some of the ladies pretty old, my first thought was "wonder how many wet their pants",,can you imagine being there and the cops running in saying run, this is not a drill, you have one minute to get out. They were drenched with sweat at the end. And I was surprised no one died.

Me too. In fact, our daughter came over the other night and we were discussing Jan's dolls. She said the way I treated them, I should find a job working with babies. She took a small dark skinned one home with her. Doll, that is!

Wow. That young corporal has been there, done that, and given much.

Here are some very brief details Cpl. Wright's heroism:

Marine Cpl. James Wright, who received the Bronze Star Medal with valor device from Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, salutes during the national anthem at the June 1 presentation ceremony in front of the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Va.

Wright lost both hands and suffered severe damage to his leg when his vehicle was struck by an enemy rocket-propelled grenade in Iraq's Anbar province. Despite his wounds, Wright continued to lead the Marines in his charge.

I've seen this photo posted twice today.
Are we supposed to know the identities of
the two gals? If so, I sure don't.
