There was a facinating show on History channel the other night. It had a play by play recount of the discussions he had with Gorby pertaining to nuclear disarmement....it was pretty cool, Reagan wouldn't budge on SDI, even though it was totally unworkable. Gorby was scared to death of "Star Wars".
A high stakes poker game if i ever saw one.....:)

It's so telling how the Soviet Union respected the ability of America to develop SDI and the elite "intelligentsia" in this country said it would never work.
- The Soviet opinions were based on sober assessments, made by excellent scientists, who knew the fate of two countries weighed in the balance.
- The liberal opinions here were based on visceral hatred for the man who proposed it.
Of all the things we could name after President Reagan, the NMD site in Alaska would be the most fitting.
