Doesn't alway come in 3's
I am afraid so. Just saw on MSN that Rosey Brown, one of the NFL greats, passed away today, too.

The sad part is I am sitting here singing the song in my head and my damn eyes are starting to water. That was a very inspirational song which made me feel very proud to be an American. Just wish this damn water would leave my eyes.

"Ray could make other people see those things. Now, it's his turn." What a fabulous thought!
Thanks.

What a sad week, he was one of my favorites. I grew up listening to him. His version of Yesterday is great.

Even his rendition of the ABC rhyme that he sang years ago on Sesame Street was amazing. I think he could have sang the phone book and had it be good too.

Spent my boyhood in Georgia. That song still breaks me up - though I'm a Carolinian now.

Every Saturday a local radio station plays several hours of blues music which my son would avidly listen too. His favorite was Ray Charles.
When he learned to play guitar my son went and bought several Ray Charles videos and he would watch and play along.
Prays to the Charles Family.

2 great americans in a week.
The man was brilliant and inspirational, I don't know anyone who didn't smile at the sight of him he was so full of life.

I met Ray in LA, and knew one of his boys who worked on his own in a rather low level job in LA. I was always a little surprised by that.

I had this on my outgoing message during the impeachment.
Saw him live at Yale. A guy got up in the aisle and started doing the Texas slop--had to be forcibly restrained.

Just damn. It's crying time again.

That's beautiful.
Ray Charles had talent on loan from God... I thank them both for sharing it with us for so long.
