Have you noticed that since all of the DC suits have had their fill of face time, the late night/early morning DC viewers of President Reagan lying in state are no better dressed than the rest of us "slobs" from L.A.?

I just saw a little of it over in the chow hall at lunch.
We heard "Hail to the Chief" playing and everyone started watching. Since I've seen almost nothing, it was very moving for us to see that.
The chow hall got very quiet.

I was disappointed that the pallbearers didn't place the coffin squarely on the pedestal. As a result, what would have been a perfect picture from directly overhead was ruined due to the coffin being about three inches out of parallel with the pedestal.
Actually, I think the pallbearers did their jobs well. Blame should be placed with the extra soldier standing at the end giving orders as the pallbearers sat the coffin on the pedestal. I believe it was his job to insure the coffin was squared up.

The suits don't have to wait in line for hours in humidity.

I can hardly describe in words how disgusted I have been with Fox's funeral coverage.... MSNBC was going live with Reagan coverage until 1am EST ...

They waited outside yesterday in 95 degree heat and high humidity. When I went to bed, they said the line was about 20,000 folks.
If the "commoners" had had to wait in line for hours in suit and tie or dresses and panty hose, the medics couldn't handle the heat stroke cases.

Drove me batty last night when they went to O'Reilly and left the rotunda coverage.
I had to watch MSNBC to see Thatcher, Mulroney and the other dignitaries pay their respects.
