I was disappointed that the pallbearers didn't place the coffin squarely on the pedestal. As a result, what would have been a perfect picture from directly overhead was ruined due to the coffin being about three inches out of parallel with the pedestal.

Actually, I think the pallbearers did their jobs well. Blame should be placed with the extra soldier standing at the end giving orders as the pallbearers sat the coffin on the pedestal. I believe it was his job to insure the coffin was squared up.

I just got back from the rotunda. Absolutely amazing, emotional, touching, etc. and worth every minute of the 4 hours that I waited. I was very lucky to hit the changing of the guards at 6am this morning. They allowed a certain number of people in and we were allowed to stand around and watch for about 10 minutes.

I was also there for the suspicious package. Not at all what the news reports are saying. An asian guy looking very much like an tourist was taking pictures and then left his backpack. My friends are I were standing over it not realizing that it had been abandoned and the police suddenly separated the crowds. Luckily we rushed to the other side so we continued to keep going on the track to the rotunda.

I hope this makes sense. I just pulled an all nighter but I'm glad I did.
