Today President Bush was hosting the member of the G-8 and special guests, Including the new Iraqi President at Sea Island, Georgia. The President has expressed his appreciation for thr U'N's unannomous vote on his and Tony Blairs joint resolution. President Bush and First Lady Laura will be returning to the White House tomorrow and paying respects to President Reagan and meeting with Nancy Reagan. On Friday, President Bush will deliver the eulogy for Roanld Reagan at the National Cathedral
ENJOY YOUR VIST TO SANITY ISLAND
Much more appropriate that the Pres stayed in GA and tended to business and handle the national ceremony than be there today. Glad to be able to set your JERK talk show guy straight. LOL!

I always wonder why the tables at these events are soooo HUGE! How can they talk to each other? They can hardly see each other! Same when they're just sitting in chairs--they always seem to be so far apart.
***I so much enjoyed all three of the speeches, by Stevens, Hastert and Dick Cheney. Very, very fitting, and honoring Reagan perfectly.***
I caught the replay of these speeches on CSPAN and each of these men seemed to get very emotional and I heard their voices crack several times during the speeches.
I also noticed that NONE of them made even the slightest reference to anything political--they just honored Ronald Reagan, and each of them mentioned Nancy too. Very classy, and very touching.
From the looks of many of these guys, I am thinking it has to do with bad breath- or b.o. Then again.....
They can hardly see each other!
From the looks of many of these guys, maybe that is the point!
LOL!
Never thought of that; maybe they don't WANT to sit by each other. Or maybe the organizers of the events know of the conflicts between them and don't want any injuries. . .
I guess if the tables were smaller, they could kick each other under the table and no one would know who kicked who . . . LOL!
Speaking of feet under the tabel, I think it goes back to the the Clinton years when Pakistan had that female PM.
I wouldn't mind having the driver. (Just kidding, I know he belongs to Laura. Couldn't resist it.)
You know, I thought about the "hands" issue, but considering that it was Pres. Bush at the table, discounted it. But when we're speaking of Clinton, anything goes, and the hand issue would definitely be a factor.
Any word if he's going to the funeral or not?
I heard last night that was the flag that was flying over the Capital during his 1984 Inauguration. So - - if it seems a little worn.....
Just saw a news alert with Pres. Bush and Chirac "Talking" (I heard somewhere that Chirac can speak perfect english but just won't sometimes--what a jerk).
Anyway, I noticed Pres. Bush was figeting--jiggling one of his knees up and down furiously during the whole thing. I've never seen him do that before--usually he's so calm, outside anyway. He didn't look as well as usual--tired, stressed, hopefully not sick . . . he certainly has a lot on his mind. It was just a little disturbing to see him that way. Anyone else notice this?
Love your tagline . . . where did you come up with that screenname? :-)
I'm sorry I haven't been around much.
After the dignitaries viewed the casket (Lady Thatcher and others) they let the public in.
One sweet young girl with a "Reagan" t-shirt on (it was navy) was praying and crying like her heart was breaking. That got to me.
Another young, (very young) handsome man in a navy suit was sobbing uncontrollably, looked at the casket and sobbed again as he left the rotunda. Did anyone see that?
Thank you. I like knowing that's the reason the flag is a little worn.
Missed that, darn it. I turned to another channel after Lady Thatcher and Peggy Noonan paid their respects.
Those expressions of grief are heart breaking and uplifitng at the same time.
I saw a man in uniform about an hour ago that was having a really hard time.
By cracky, I think you have Putin nailed!
He does look "interesting". As in, kind of weird. But then, the only Russka I've seen that doesn't look somewhat weird to me is Gorbachev.
God bless you, Mike. You're a saint. Reality is a strain, isn't it? You and I are in a very similar boat.
And thanks for the great dose tonight. It's lovely, sir.
