lol...:)
Good to laugh after the tears were flowing.
You are correct if he was on officer. But, the soldier did not salute in return, maybe wasn't sure what to do?
I will not ever forget Mrs. Reagan's and Maggie Thatcher's actions at the casket of President Reagan...never.
I was wondering why Michael was never with the other Reagans. Sad that they couldn't find it within themselves to include him.</p>
Unfortunately today I kept running into that plus the awkward commentary of Chris Matthews or someone. But it was still moving.
Is anyone watching David Dreier on MSNBC now?
Can we draft David Dreier for President in 2008?
William Randolph Hearst, "Song of the River"
this is the first time I've read it. It's
quite fitting and beautiful, isn't it?
I guess by now you're watching your recording
of the procession and the services inside the
rotunda. Majestic is the word. I loved every
moment of it, and cried all the way through the
playing of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic,"
which was played slowly as a funeral dirge (most
fitting I thought).
Beautiful service and grand eulogies by all three
GOP speakers. I am particularly thrilled no democrat
spoke. :)
PhiKapMom, I am from a military family - so I love love love all this pageantry and protocol and howitzers and screaming jets and everything that goes with it. I could watch the Honor Guard change all day long ! I think that President Reagan did a wonderful job planning his/our celebration of the America that he so loved. We love you and we'll sure miss you, Ronnie - thanks a million !!!!!
Let me admit, Kerry has been quiet. Of course, when he does that his numbers go up.
This race is going to get insane in July and August. I can't even think of September and October. You talk about wacko.
I made no point with my statements, so let me make it now.
This will be the most heated election in the history of this country.
Don't sweat it. Bush WILL WIN.
My mistake, could have sworn FNC said J,L,E.
Given the many Administration staff testimonies before House and Senate committees she's disrupted, I didn't think those donut-ridden druids had the capacity to recognize her.

Well, if Iwere standing there, at absolute attention, not moving, probably praying to God that I didn't get the urge to sneeze, wipe my nose, scratch...well, never mind--after 20 minutes, I'd probably want to get relieved too.
My other guess is that there are a multitude of officers who either were assigned to this detail, or wanted to be so, and continually rotating them offers as many as possible to perform this noble service.
Just my $.02
And I believe you!
Really? Who's Constitution? I'm not an expert but I didnt think the U.S. Constitution covered State Funerals but I'm sure Bill Xlinton would find something in there that guarantees him the right to do just about anything. Although - it wouldnt be the first time SEE B.S. got something wrong.
lol...true.
That was a most gracious changing of the guard! Our military amazes me....they are trained not only to kill the enemy but also to have exquisite grace!
I don't know what it would take for someone to post such a thing on this thread, but I'm sorry for you. You see things that aren't there.
Good stuff!
I did not see the third one. Thanks!
