Ah Jim, I only now has gotten myself back together. When she began to stroke the coffin and speak to him, I cried like a baby. Now Maggie is at the coffin, tough as nails even at her old age.

Well we disagree. I'm being consistent. I didn't like it at the Wellstone memorial and I didn't like Steven's speech either. Wrong place, wrong time. Hastert and Cheney got the same points over but more subtly.

Grandmother (I talked to my mom about a half=hour ago or so), but thanks. I appreciate it. You're welcome, though I have to sit here and shake my head at how I missed the fact it was your grandmother.
I lost both of mine in the last few months. I had the signal honor of being able to give the eulogy at the funeral of my maternal grandmother. I worked my tuchis off on it, and my Uncle Mike told me I should be a preacher. I thanked him, but what I should have said is "Nothing less would have been worthy of her." And then we all did what we do after funerals in her family: Stand around and tell jokes.
Dang I miss her right now. Dad's mom too.
