Virginia Democratic Convention - What Was Not Covered

Why No Coverage?

Saturday was the Virginia Democratic Convention. Most everyone in town knows that, it was covered well! Now imagine for a moment that it was the Republican Convention, and there were some Iraq war protesters, and some Pro-abortion protesters outside. Well if it had been the Republican scenario, there would have been plenty of coverage, both locally and probably nationally. Since it was the Democratic scenario, only a small snippet was shown on Channel 7 , to their credit. I know Channel 10 was there, and The Times, and other media. Where was the coverage? What happened to we report, you decide? What about fair and balanced, or at least give lip service to appear that way major media! Maybe since the group was only for saving lives and supporting America's brave troops that are in a WAR, they were not controversial enough. Or perhaps it was because they were well behaved, no shouting, no arrests, no obscenities, no Malotov cocktails, gee, not even a cigarette was lit. Oh, in case you think I'm making this up, wrong again, I was there, and have pictures. The 25-30 that were there at one time can vouch for that! Note this was infront of The Hotel Roanoke Saturday.

The drive to Roanoke from Powhatan, VA was beautiful.

Wow! The Appalachian Mts are one of the most gorgeous places on Earth. Growing up in Va, I was spoiled and didn't really see what I was blessed with. It took moving elsewhere, and driving through the countryside to Blacksburg to visit my parents to really make it obvious.

Thanks for posting these, Flora....we had a GREAT TIME. I was happy to meet you and appreciate you making the drive!

We mostly wanted the dimocRATS to know that VA is NOT their liberal playgound. Overall, I was very pleased at the responses we got.

Two of us were there on Friday night....I counted 6 "thumbs ups", 1 "thumbs down" and 1 Democrat IQ finger salute....so most were WITH US.

Thanks also to Dennis Green's prolife team that made the trip from the Richmond area with about 10 people.

Forgot to mention...on that snippet we did get on Channel 7, while Militiaman7 was speaking, they titled him with FREEREPUBLIC.COM.....so the word got out!

Love that publicity....

The Democrats have gone so far over the top it is important to call them on it and I was proud to join you Saturday. What a great group of people were there with us.

With a son in the military, I have been appalled at the reckless rhetoric of the Democrat Party leadership. Their attempts to weaken the President have put our Troops in danger and emboldened the terrorists.

We are at war with Terror and must be united to win. There are plenty of issues the Dems could campaign on but to attempt to demoralize the troops and the American people in order to push their agenda is despicable.

If anyone thinks I exaggerate by saying "Over the top", one has only to peruse the Virginia Democrat Party website for a few minutes to find links to Micheal Moore, MoveOn.org, Independent Media (!!!!) and George Soros among other radical leftist propagandist sites.

Checkout their links - Punk Voter is especially interesting once you get past the silly video thing. DEMOCRAP LINKS

By the way, I think you did a great job "debating" the young man who talked like James Carvell. LOL! Most enjoyable!

Way to Go!! Nice photos!

So how many RATS were at their convention? I sure hope you stayed upwind.

One good FReep deserves another, so I guess we will FReep our local Green Party this Saturday, (Drill A.N.W.R.).

Keep up the great work.

They had 1,100 at their convention.

Have fun with the Greens. You shouldn't take more than two people with you, though, just to give them a sportin' chance.

What a nice surprise, thank you for letting me know that you are still out and doing a wonderful job for America and the Free Republic.

Do I have to confess that I haven't checked my message file in 2 weeks?

Enjoyed your pictures.

"Do I have to confess that I haven't checked my message file in 2 weeks?"

What happened to the "lazy" days of summer? I feel like I've been running full steam since the end of May.

It's good to hear from you again. I'll ping you again after July 3rd...a little local action going on then.
