"I don't think that the fat and lazy citizenry (myself included) has the stomach to do what it takes to restore liberty. Too many people are 'on the take' from the tax trough. We all have a vested interest in our pensions and a piece of the Social Security pie."

Well, I for one will do what is necessary to restore liberty, and there are other Americans who feel the same way. The big question, however, is whether or not there will be enough patriots to see it through. The way things are going, though, we will likely see soon enough. One final comment: If one is convinced he or she is entitled to feed at the public tax trough, and feels he or she is owed the various entitlements the government has "set up" for him or her, he or she has already been bought by the government, and is at best a subject, but more realistically is nothing more than a slave. Our forefathers had a better dream for us, and we shame them by abandoning that dream and for soiling their legacy.

"If the republicans won't stand up to the erosion of our constitutional rights, our money is better spent on arms and ammunition. We will know where to put it to the best use. The time of indecision is drawing to a close."

That's a fact.

"You best guess, what's the odds of this thing passing?"

Better than even.

"I think they know just as well or even better than we do just how important it is to complete the subjugation of what is left of America."

That's right, and that is what the Left has always been about: The subjugation and eventual enslavement of the American people.

"How many will show up on Lexington Green this time? We're losing the 'soft war', as Fred from Fred's Stocks calls it, and I'm not sure how many of us will have the cajones to fight the 'hard war' to come. Buy ammo now, while you can, folks. Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!"

I pray it never comes to that, but if it does, I will be on The Green, or its modern equivalent.

I, for one, am trying my best ot get ready for it. I believe it's inevitible. At some point, someone (and not some McVeigh or Koresh nutcase) will stand up and say "enough is enough, follow me". At that point, I surely hope there are enough of us to make a difference, otherwise we'll die for a noble cause, and the nation as we know and love it will be forever lost.

For starters, I'm trying like hell to find a job somewhere other than Florida. This state is long lost, like a Kalifornia East. Yankee liberals and illegal scumbag aliens have ruined it. History shows that resistance is best in the mountains, so that's where I'm headed, God willing. Good luck to you, and to all of us.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

"...he or she has already been bought by the government, and is at best a subject, but more realistically is nothing more than a slave. Our forefathers had a better dream for us, and we shame them by abandoning that dream and for soiling their legacy."

I can't argue with your sentiments; I wish the citizenry was more like the guys who set up the Republic oh, so long ago. But it has for all intents and purposes, been completely co-opted by the welfare state. The 'buying of the citizenry' began in earnest during and after the Great Depression. The advent of Social Insecurity was the key element in our slump into financial dependence on government, i.e., our slavery. The Thing is a monster because, like the over burden of the progressive income tax, it devours so much of our wages that we cannot save and invest enough to retire in relative comfort.

While I would really like to think differently, I do not see enough people in this country rising up anytime soon to throw off the shackles of government bondage. The really sad part is that it COULD be done in a peaceful manner - at the voting booth. But because the entire nation has been Gerrymandered into near solid voting districts, in which the two main parties have near equal guaranteed seats in Congress, it is unlikely that the dramatic shift of representation which would be needed for revolutionary change can be accomplished at the ballot box.

On top of that, a large percentage of the population (which is growing every year) is wedded to the welfare state money trough, so much so, that to cut them off would create a disaster. How would so many illegals survive if not for the free money tendered to them by our "generous" commie-inspired government?

Its pretty clear that most people want to maintain the status quo, so as not to upset their pensions. Still, the occurrence of some cataclysmic event might be enough to trigger some very unpleasant and massive civil unrest. What that might be (outside of an armed invasion by foreign troops) is not clear.

...and as some dimwit Congressperson once said, "The Constitution is like an old blue dress, it somehow doesn't quite fit anymore."

That MY dimwit Congressperson, the notsoHonorable Ellen Tauscher, she of the little blue dress. I take no comfort in her "representation".

I gave up on our f**king RINO Chafee a long time ago.

If it takes everything I have, he will not be re-elected.

I hear ya, even my state of Virginia has the old dinosaur Warner on the list. He is a disgrace to every Republican in my state. For crying out loud they couldn't look at my rifle and one with the grenade launcher, bayonet lug, pistol grip and hi cap magazine and know the difference. Better be looking for a new job is all the advice I can give them.

Beware.

Soon, a rubber band and a pebble will be classified as an assault weapon.

They already have waiting periods on them here in CA.
