A man after my own heart! I include a note in my RNC envelopes telling the RNC to go ask the NRA, 2nd Amendment Foundation, and Gun Owners of America for MY contribution!
I do that too, over the phone. I have had some rather lengthy discussions with the people making the calls. Some seem to be young adults who are sympathetic to conservative causes but who don't have great depth regarding the issues. I have gone into great detail sometimes regarding what the AWB does. I have always been treated quite respectfully and I return that.
I'm glad to hear that! Personally, I've received no replies. I've been on the RNC website, but they have no option for contacting the RNC. RNC seems want our money, but doesn't give a damn what we think. This doesn't bode well for the future of the Republican Party.
On top of that, the judiciary is, in my opinion, completely out of control. And that includes the present US SC. The stark differences between how they view the so-called and totally 'invented' abortion right and the clear-cut and unambiguous RKBA is instructive as to their overall view of Constitutional law.
And it ain't good. As I see it, there is only a slim chance that we can restore any resemblance of a Constitutional Republic in America without massive civil unrest. We must educate the next generations (several of them) to the evils of the welfare state. This will take time, probably the rest of my life. I doubt that I will see the fruits of such an endeavor. The problem with the ballot box is that, through time, the professional politicians (are there any other kind these days?) have gerrymandered every Congressional district in the US and every state representative district to ensure that one or the other main parties will always win that seat.
Just look at the host of fossils we have in the US Senate: Fat Teddy, Babs Boxer, Leahy, Feinswine, ad nauseum. These people cannot be voted out of office because the political machines that keep them in power all have a vested interest in keeping them there where they can funnel tax money off to their main contributers.
Campaign Finance Reform, like all political "reforms" is a joke. The cost of running for a Senate seat is now around $50 million and rising. Why would anyone spend that much money for a job that pays around $170,000 a year? The answer is to be found in the foulest form of corruption: that of the paid-off "public servant". Because these bastards are secure in the knowledge that it is very unlikely that they will be voted out, they can pursue the interests of their money people and their own personal political beliefs. This applies to both main parties. The Constitution certainly does not pose a threat to the institution of "the agenda" and the "people" who actually are forced to pay the tab really have no recourse. Except for the 2nd. The answer lies therein. The only question is "when?"
Historically, revolutions have occurred under extreme economic crises. The American revolution was no different in its inception. However, its outcome was something that can only be described as "divinely inspired". What the nation has become over the succeeding 230 years is quite different from what the Founders envisioned. Now, one can argue that "times change", and as some dimwit Congressperson once said, "The Constitution is like an old blue dress, it somehow doesn't quite fit anymore." That attitude is the the one held by 99% of the scumbags currently in office.
They really don't have to worry about whether the voting citizenry has any "minimum requirements" about office holders, because they have become THE GOVERNMENT.
I don't hold out much hope, yet I keep voting and I keep supporting the Repubos. What the leadership does with this AW ban extension will determine my future political direction. As far as I am concerned, civil unrest is just an extension of "politics".
IMO When judges are permitted to make new laws from the bench, we are in sinking. When the Supremes at the USSC have the opinion that the Constitution is a "living document" we are sunk!
>>We must educate the next generations (several of them) to the evils of the welfare state.<<
On this we don't stand a chance. The NEA has convinced every kid who went through public school that integrity, personal responsibility, morality and religion have no place in todays society. To change this line of thinking back again will take 60 years.
>>Why would anyone spend that much money for a job that pays around $170,000 a year? (snip) The Constitution certainly does not pose a threat to the institution of "the agenda" and the "people" who actually are forced to pay the tab really have no recourse. Except for the 2nd. The answer lies therein. The only question is "when?<<
IMO, "Except for the 2nd." That is what springs the fear of .50's and semi-autos amongst the fossil legislators. A renewal of the ban would certify this. The NWO plan doesn't allow for individuals to be capable of violent recourse.
>>Historically, revolutions have occurred under extreme economic crises.<<
Last year, nearly $350 billion of new home equity lines were opened, plus $90 billion in fixed-term home equity installment loans. Home equity line originations in 2003 were almost twice the volume of just two years earlier --"
One million jobs in three months is what everyone has been bragging about. My reply is where do you think the illegal aliens are working? They're not all farm workers. The taxes that will be collected from these lower paid workers will not be able to provide for society at the level that it has been.
When the legislators determine the government needs your money to continue the socialistic programs. That will be the initiator for the destruction of private property holdings and perhaps the subjection of increased federal withholding taxes on savings accounts and private investments.
There is no easier way to control a population than by controlling the amount of personal finances a person is "entitled" to. Taxes and official rules can do this easily. When the population starts to remove their savings from the banks, the doors will be closed and locked.
If the government isn't quick enough in closing the doors we will have a depression that will make '29 look like a practice run. Probably the first step will be a rule that we are only allowed to remove $1000 a month in cash.
We are teetering on the edge of depression right now. Outsourcing and lower wage scales have lowered the average household income by $1,400 per year. This represents a $500 per month deficiency to the Treasury. Individuals refinancing their homes and using equity loans are keeping large cost item commercial merchandisers above the waterline.
Getting back to the NWO plan. If there is civil unrest, that is when the government will pass a law saying UN troops shall be used to instill submission. Foreign troops will not have any difficulty shooting an American citizen which could be a problem for our older police officers and our military troops.
All of the older, above 30, LEO's that I have asked about their response to an official order from their Chief, regarding the national collection of firearms have said they would turn in their badges before obeying it. Flush the Constitution and bring on the sacred principles enshrined in the UN Charter with it's revitalized peacekeeping function.
Interesting times, living through history.
I wonder if Paul Revere had the same thoughts?
Assuming no "Columbine II" (or worse terrorists that aquired their weapons here), and assuming Bush keeps his current "I'll sign it but won't push it" stanch, I'd say less than 10%. All bets are off if the President would start pushing for it, with or without the "incident" we tinfoilers fear.
I will say one thing. Gun control is the one issue which many leftists are willing to support even at their own loss. I know Bill Clinton admitted they lost the 94 House elections due to the AW ban, yet they continued to push gun control.
I think they know just as well or even better than we do just how important it is to complete the subjugation of what is left of America.
Bump that...
(begin message) This was my message to you: I would like to register my heartfelt and vigorous opposition to the renewal of the "Assault Weapons Ban" submitted by you as S.2498. Not only is this a frontal assault on the clearly numerated right of the People to keep and bear arms, it is difficult to understand what crime problem this is intended to address. Furthermore, in the ten years since this law was passed, exactly what effect did it have on the crime or murder rate? We believe the statistics show that it had NO effect. The right of responsible and law abiding people to keep and bear arms and their ability to defend themselves, if necessary, should be protected by our elected officials, not attacked.
This was your response.
Thank you for your recent letter. I appreciate hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond. During these very difficult times, all Americans support our armed forces and pray that they return home safely. We face significant challenges in Iraq and I hope that a stable and secure peace will emerge in the region. Please know that I heard you loud and clear. Thank you again for writing. I hope that you will continue to let me know of your views on the issues that are of importance to you. If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-3841. Sincerely yours, Dianne Feinstein United States Senator
Would you agree it makes no sense? For information, I support Pres. Bush's policies re Iraq.(end of message)
I got a great letter from Kay Baily Hutchinson the last time this issue came up. Very detailed. A form letter for gun rights, but at least it was nice and on topic heh.
Bring in a dozen terrorists, over the open Mexican border. Spanish speaking Moroccans would be ideal. (Spanish speaking Moroccans pulled the Madrid attacks.) They can "pass" a cursory US police eyeball exam, given that American police are forbidden to ask suspected illegal aliens for ID etc. This part of the plot, when intentionally revealed, will hammer Bush for sending the military abroad, while leaving our frontiers a sieve.
Next, the act of terrorism will be committed using arms legally purchased in the USA by "moderate muslim" front men. A dozen AK-47 clones would be perfect, along with thousands of rounds of ammo and hundreds of magazines. Throw in a few 50 caliber sniper rifles also. This would nail Bush to the wall for not closing the so-called "gun show loophole," when the attack occurs.
The third element is timing and venue. Timing would be during the Republican convention, to tie Bush and the Republicans to the terror attack. It would be a prolonged bloody hostage standoff, guaranteeing that the convention would be upstaged by 24/7 media coverage of the attack.
The venue would ensure that no SWAT rescue was possible, and that it would be impossible for the fedgov to put a media blanket over the event. Somebody suggested the Seattle Space Needle, and no other target comes to my mind which is superior. Long lens TV cameras would show every new terrorist demand message-sheet hung from a balcony, and every decapitated corpse flung down to the ground.
The terrorists would just rush the tourist line at the bottom, shooting any rentacops in the way, hijack the elevator, and go to the top. Once on top, they would disable the elevators, preventing rescue from below. TV or police helicopters which came too close would be shot at with the 50 caliber rifles. No SWAT rescue would be possible before the 100s of tourists would be killed. They could do a Nick Berg every few hours, and toss the bodies off, all on TV, for a worldwide audience.
And Bush would be blamed for all of it, because of the open borders, and the easy access to assault rifles.
Just my two dinars.
Goodbye Bush, Goodbye 2nd Amendment.
Hello President Kerry and AG Schumer.
Bang!
Very possible that it could be carried out. I could see everything the same except maybe the target would be in Washington D.C. or New York.
There is no way we are serious about stopping terrorism while leaving our borders nearly wide open.
One of my customers is the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee for the State of Nebraska. Their business (the number of new Ch. 13 bankruptcy filings) is booming, and has been for the past 2 years.
Regarding the NWO and the UN, with the exception of a small handful of congress critters (Tancredo, DeLay) and maybe Scalia and Thomas, it's pretty tough to find national leaders who aren't UN Globalists at heart. They're all wolves in sheep's clothing.
It's more than disturbing to think that a 40 foot trailer parked in Fort Worth Texas could be loaded with something other than 300 illegal aliens.
Bump
I guess he grew a pair because she 1. doesn't work for Cox and 2.the subject isn't gun control.
I would have loved to hear her defend how her family makes a bundle off Hartsfield airport - The airport is basically a feeding trough for well connected black "leaders" and their friends and relatives in Atlanta.
