Fox just showed a clip of Kerry crossing himself at President Reagan's casket.

No one - including Drudge is mentioning that he brought his own camera man with him.

As a matter of fact, this was one of my rare serious posts.

In my opinion Free Republic is intended to be a counter balance in an ocean of liberalism. There is no excuse for the behavior of John Kerry on this day-his line jumping photo-op today, revealed not only his contempt for the solomn occasion, but his disrespect for every ordinary American waiting for hours in line.

John Kerry is a bluenosed, arrogant sonovabitch, and I would wait in line all day for the opportunity to tell him that to his face.

"Reverse Wellstone"? Please elaborate. The DemocRATs cannot possibly turn this in their favor. Iraq is wrapping up victoriosly, with unanimous approval from the UN, jobs gains are up, the economy is hot, Bush's opinion numbers are up, and best of all, Kerry has peaked. It's all over.

That's my clumsy way of saying that the left will, I think, turn public opinion against them with their behavior following President Reagan's death just as they turned public opinion against them with their behavior at the Wellstone funeral.

Reverse, because regardless of whether the deceased is one of their own or from the opposition party, they manage to get the backlash.

JMO, but kerry and clinton both are trying to replace this picture.

With the one like this from this afternoon.

Kerry won the race of no class between them, IMO.

Do you mean by that they will get away with using Reagan's funeral for politics, or that they will claim that Bush is using this funeral for his advantage?

I meant that they'll get the backlash, be it from their behavior at the Wellstone funeral or using President Reagan's passing for political gain.

Bill Schneider on CNN said that conservatives had better not appropriate President Reagan's death for political gain, and then CNN ran a film clip of the Wellstone memorial, implying that it would be conservatives who would suffer a backlash of public opinion since the deceased is one of our own, but I think it's more likely that the backlash will be against the left.

Schneider seemed to think, IMO, that it's our turn to face the backlash.

Maybe Bill Schneider should buy a clue.

I don't think that hot dogs and beer are going to be on sale at the Reagan service in the National Cathedral and I don't think that the song "Love Train" will be blasting from the speakers either.

Well, if George Bush gets up and shouts "We will win, we will win" and pumps thy air with his fists at the National Cathedral, we will deserve a backlash. Somehow, I don't think that's going to happen.

Or, if we sold hot dogs and beer at the National Cathedral, we would deserve backlash.

Or if we BOOED the democrats as they enter the cathedral, we would deserve it.

THAT is what got them the backlash; inviting all democrat speakers would not have done it. It was WHAT those speakers said, how they behaved, and showing those jolly laughing faces on the JUMBOTRON, accompanied by the cheers of the mob.

IOW, it was a national buy. Good. As I said earlier, when I saw the ad I wondered, specially since it was on FOX.

If he's spending his funds on national ads, it means fewer ads for me. :o)

Which reminds me, not that it even matters, but do you remember any Republicans speaking at Senator Wellstone's funeral? I don't, but yet Democrats are gathering around microphones trying to claim entitlement to speak at Reagan's?

VP Cheney, who is the President of the Senate, was actually publicly disinvited.

Kerry couldn't wait til Fri in DC...he had to have his own photo-op to set him apart from the others.....what a POS, especially since Kerry NEVER agreed on anything Reagan did.

LOL. Somehow I can't imagine GWB doing that.

Oh, your post just reminded me of the person who should have been giving a eulogy but decided instead to appeal to the Republicans in attendance to show their respect for the deceased by voting democrat just this once. "Do it for Paul."

What is more disgusting is that it is working for him. The word has to get out about him bringing his own camera man. This is such a disgusting thing to do at a funeral.

All those pictures of him in front of a cross and now this!!
