Baroness Thatcher is leaving London for Washington to attend the funeral service for President Ronald Reagan, who died on Saturday aged 93.
The former Prime Minister recorded a seven-minute tribute last February to the man she has described as "one of my closest political and dearest personal friends". This tribute will be played during the service.
Afterwards, Lady Thatcher will fly in Air Force One to California for the burial.
A close friend of Lady Thatcher's said that she was at the opera at Glyndebourne on Saturday when she first heard the news of President Reagan's death.

Didn't her husband pass away this year?

Wonderful! I'm glad she'll be able to make it.

Her health is pretty dreadful, from what I hear. Greatness is passing in our time, I'm afraid.

Thanks for the post. Any idea if Bush invited her to say at the White House? I hope so.
