Would any of us want bill clinton speaking at our funeral?

Bingo!
Funerals do nothing for the deceased. Funerals are to comfort the living. President Reagan's nearest and dearest should be the ones to decide how they want to say goodbye, and I, for one, could certainly understand why Clinton and Carter would be inappropriate as speakers or guests.

Speaking of which -- have we heard from AlGore?

With any luck, he blew out his vocal chords the last time he gave one of those screaming, growling speeches.

The Clintonistas are publicly naming NANCY REAGAN as leaving Clinton off the list...

I may be mistaken but I do not remember Nixon getting a platform at the Kennedy funerals. And he and Jack were friendly.

Do we want to give them an issue, would having Carter do a reading at the cathedral be so bad?

"WE" aren't giving them anything. It's Nancy's call.

On this note I would just like to add.....

Terrorists are fortunate that 9-11 didn't happen twenty years earlier.

The great Ronaldus Magnus would've ended them all over the course of a lazy afternoon.

God bless you, President Reagan!

...wasn't Clinton the current president at the time?

Yes, he was.

DOn't forget: When Bill Clinton ran for president in 1992, he promised that he would not "coddle dictators, from Baghdad to Beijing."

He then proceeded to . . . well you know.

I'd like to know why Fatty Unbuckle (IE: Clinton) thinks he has the right to speak at Reagan's funeral?

I'm curious, how many of you will be working Friday? I was just told that many non-government businesses in my city are closing Friday. I'm considering closing my business as well. What have y'all heard? Thanks.

I often wonder about that. And, then I remember our military was decimated by Carter! We did not have the strength to fight terrorism and the Cold War at the same time.

Nancy is not going to cave to this jackass. Not in a million years. Not in the name of her beloved Ronnie.

If she is convinced, somehow, to allow him to speak, I'll support her decision. But I do not see it happening.

And I suppose they would ask W to speak at Billy Jeff's funeral. I'll bet he's disappointed because he's been practising biting his lower lip since Saturday. These people have NO shame....

I may need medication before the day is over. I'll never make it to November.

ROTFL! And I thought it was just me who felt this way, LOL.

My employer will be open Friday. I plan to take a vacation day, go to church and then watch the funeral. Although if boner bill is allowed to speak I may blow off the whole thing. Please, Reagan family: Don't bow to the pressure!!

We weren't exactly prepared for WW2, either. Yet we won; through perseverence and courage and the will to defeat those who threatened our survival.

Nothing can stop the American spirit and love for country.

You do understand that not inviting either of the living Democrat ex-Presidents makes it even easier for the Kerry camp to spin this as a "Paul Wellstone-like crass, opportunistic political rally", don't you?

Let the freaking man/men speak, I say. To do anything less looks very, very suspicious.
