I'll say extra prayers for President Reagan and his family.
SSo many people cautioned me against going as it will be really hot and humid (typical DC in June) and with the crowds I know will be there, I think I'll stay away DC.
I simply can't take the heat coupled with the crowds and the stress of trying to get there.
I hope to be meeting a lot of FReepers at President Bush's SECOND inaugeration! :O)
You're quite welcome, Mr. Fox....and you have yourself a Fine day. :-)
Oh, that's too bad, but it is probably best. If the crowd is anything like it was when President Kennedy was lying in State, I would advise you not to go also. My parents and my brother and I stood in line for over four hours on a cold drizzly November day to be able to file past President Kennedy's casket. The line only inched along, block by block. We finally gave up and went home. We felt we had paid our respects.
We are going to be in DC on the 20th and 21st. I suppose the weather is going to be hot and humid as it is all summer. Still, I am looking forward to seeing the WWII Memorial and the Vietnam Wall while we are there.
I need to take off for awhile. I'll be back later to pick up where I left off.
Yeah ! I'm taking my buddy's HP digital camera because mine died about 2 weeks ago.I'll get pics up as soon as I can. :^D
Maybe we can arrange to meet in DC then, I'd like to see the WWII memorial too. Also meet you and your family.
I sent it!
Me either, carbs are our friends, especially sweet ones.
((((Hugs))) to Laura Earl!
I love that graphic!
Why thank you very much, on both fronts. He is such a wonderful boy. I am very lucky.
Will do.
Sorry, Pippin. I was wondering if you might be able to make it over there. :^(Sure wish I could have, but here in Texas it's about as far to California as it is
to D.C. Or rather, it's just too far to either place.I watched the procession yesterday. Really nice. And big crowds showing up.
Scanning the end of last night's thread that I missed, am bringing here two Replies many might not have seen.
The first is from (lonestar) Weinie from Rainbow Bridge regarding President Reagan:

As I said last Saturday, I knew I had a busy weekend ahead. We had a very special two-legged friend coming to Rainbow Bridge to take his four-legged friends home. We had a real celebration. Served jelly beans, of course. The birds chirped "Hail to the Chief."
It takes a lot to impress me but I felt honored to finally meet lonestar's hero. He told me I could call him "Uncle Ronnie." He asked if I had run for his old office, Governor of California. He was impressed with me, too.
It was hard to tell who was happiest but I think it was Uncle Ronnie. He told us in a speech that he had been ready for this day for a long time. It was a happy day for all at "The Bridge."
The cats and horse in the picture were among his old friends who left with him. They were so happy.

I have yet to try my hand at battering myself with water surfaces from a skidoo...
((((((HUGS))))))) back to Pippin! :) Howzit goin?
Oops!!! Sorry LadyX, I forgot to include you in my list of recipients to #49!! Don't know how I managed that one!
I'm heading off to the doctor to figure out why I can't shake this cough and congestion, then to a dinner with my Bible study group. Hope everyone has a good afternoon and evening, and will try to check in later tonight.
HE WON'T ASK
