I missed most of this on the radio. Thanks so much for posting it. Rush reaches millions, thank God.

Bump for later.
I stayed by the radio today just to hear Rush and how he would honor President Reagan. I love Reagan too. I was in the fourth grade in 1980 and we had a mock election. Carter won! We were in a democratic county in Alabama. A little girl taunted me because I voted for Reagan. I remember her telling me Carter would win. Needless to say President Reagan won the real election. :)
Absolutely beautiful and informative - I was one of those not paying a lot of attention in those days - although I always loved our president.
I am so thankful God has blessed us with these fine people to come in - take the lead - ignore the obstructionists and follow what they know is right.
Thank you God for giving us Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Rush Limbaugh. What would America have done without these people?
Bump to read later.
it is sad. i tear up when i see a flag at half staff.
i appreciated drudge starting out with god bless america.
to ronald reagan and ayn rand i owe my dropping out of the democrat party.
you have to wonder, how could i be so wrong for so long? answer: youth and going to university.
Bumpttt.
In this day of self indulgence and free use of anyone and anything to serve one's own needs or ambition I am getting a "Pepcid" feeling in my gut.A Maalox moment is coming on.
If you will, cast your minds back to the days shortly after 9-11 and recall President Bush speaking at the National Cathedral. He was speaking to heal and to balm the national wounds.I remember being troubled by the adoring Media which could NOT keep its' cameras on Mr. Bush but instead lingered, fawning over Bill Clinton who just HAD to be present. I recall after the ceremony how Clinton stood outside in the center of the wide stone steps, so all who exited would have to march past in grief,Bubba the consoler, soaking up the attention like a sponge, ever needing to be the focal point.
President Reagan will be used by many as he lies in State. They will come before the presence of greatness, eager to be seen and held in the gravity of such a man,in the comet's tail as it were....
I urge you all to stock up on stomach remedies in the meantime ,and come let us devine together, who shall be the Grandest Media Whore of All?.
Exactly. I disagree with his reading of the New Deal but let that pass. Rush's point and one that's valid for as long as America exists, is that President Reagan did the right things for the right reasons. That's our 40th President's lasting legacy.

I first "discovered" RR when I got used to listening to his daily radio addresses, after moving to Ca. in 1973. He made so much sense to me that he was instrumental in transforming me from a college-cultured liberal idealist into a self-reliant rugged individualist conservative, and I was greatly encouraged and energized with the advent of the '80's. For this fifty-year-old, it was the greatest leap from one decade of history to another.
We were fortunate to buy our first home in the beautiful Simi Valley in 1982, where we lived until 1988. We visited the Reagan Library when our middle son was in the 3rd grade ('93) which so impressed him that he spent the next year studying the Presidents and not only handwriting a brief biography of each one, but drawing a portrait of each President using a book from the library as a guide!
A visit to Cal. is not complete without a visit to this wonderful and inspiring place. It is truly heartwarming for us to know that he will rest in peace here overlooking the beautiful Tierra Rejada valley.
I just finished listening on 24/7. This was one of his best shows ever.
