Dress codes are long a thing of the past, alas. I remember when I went to Europe in 1968. I wore a suit and a HAT!

When I went to San Francisco in the 50's with my mother, we always wore gloves.

What cracks me up is to see bald, often pasty white, men standing in direct, beating, burning sunlight with no hat on whatsoever.

In the 60's men still wore a suit and tie when they flew..
