"Rush: DNC refused to have headquarters flag flown at half staff."

What???? Simply unbelievable.

I agree, it's unbelievable. Who would have thought the DNC actually flew the flag.

I just have to ask: does anyone know if Tom Daschle has said yet that he is "deeply saddened?"

As I said yesterday (maybe to you, I don't remember) I had to explain Carter to my son-in-law and daughter. When I said that Islamic terrorism got started under Carter my daughter thought I was just being snipey about democrats. I had to give a mini-history lesson about Carter and how important it was that Ronald Reagan was elected. My daughter barely remembers Reagan...she was 9 when he left office.

You're right about 652 ... Jennings just can't help himself.

Nancy Pelosi, too check the threads about her response to the President's passing.

What blackhearted scum they are.

she isn't quite getting the whole idea and has dealt with several family deaths

Sorry for your losses. We have been spared (so far) and have only lost a beloved pet.

I just know that this is history in the making and I want her and her brother to be there. Had I been 5 and living close to DC, I would have hoped that my parents would have taken me to the JFK procession.

BTW, they are napping, so I can FReep and watch TV and listen to Rush to my heart's content!!!!

I just showed her some pix on this thread and compared it to when grandpa died and how grandma feels.

She is chilling now and made a flower picture for him and a picture of him and her together. It is easy enough for her since she knows who George Bush is (and is jealous of Laura!)

Due to illness, any napping going on includes me! It will probably be a good 4 to 6 more weeks before I feel like 100%, but I am exercising to get rid of the flab that doens't help. Lost 6 pounds.

If you can somehow have the concept of the funeral make sense, I would see nothing wrong with taking your children. Even if they don't understand, you remind them from time to time as they learn who George Bush is and begin learning history, they will appreciate it later.

I would've been delighted if Nancy had worn red - that was his favorite color on her.

I am trying to figure out how anyone could think that Michael is being snubbed. His is front row along side the entire family.

From earlier posts here readers like I, and certainly others, gained the impression Michael wsn't there.

The thing is, with all the 'smelly beans' to be found within the Dem Party, would they even notice?

So true. He didn't just see the depression, he lived it. He turned 18 in 1929. No money in the town where he was from. I'm sure that by today's standards, it would be considered poverty.

... now hiding behind my monitor ...

Me too, from time to time. Have been since Saturday afternoon. But then, from time to time, it dawns on me that neither President Reagan, nor my dear departed father, nor any other right-minded person would want any of us to be sad, for long.

I was trying to diffuse the dress controversy with humor...

I don't give a damn what she wears

Boy, I know she's relieved to hear that... LOL!

Michael was there, front row.

Something a few freepers and I saw made us wonder something, but truly, it's not worth the space on the thread to discuss further.

I heard they will use Reagan's boots; don't know about the saddle.

The trousers were actually called "pinks," instead of being referred to as "pink trousers."

Because of the material, and depending upon the lighting, they appeared to have a very slight pink tint to them.

The post Carter presidency spin made him look like this great being...the nobel prize last year further proof to make him look good. . I consider Jimmah Carter one of the founding fathers of modern day terror due to his inept policies..... I dont care how many houses he built since his presidency, he is still a loser to me. How many houses did he build that helped stop 911?
