Mr. Reagan looks lovely, but she is so tiny!

I was a boy when Eisenhower died. I guess I was 8. I do remember seeing it on TV... in hindsight, my parents were vigilant in telling my sister and I that we were witnessing history. I can remember the riderless horse, and "the buggy" with the flag-draped coffin. Not much else. I don't know if it was a State Funeral or simply an honor.

Off topic, but I recall my parents letting my sister and I stay up well past bedtime to see Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon for the first time.

Same story: "Tonto, I want you to remember this, because it is a special moment in our history, and one day you'll be able to say that you saw it."

God bless President Ronald Reagan and may Nancy find peace and strength. This is so moving. This makes the Democrats look even smaller than they are. I'm going to check out the Bush website. How wonderful of him to honor Reagan in this manner. President Bush admired President Reagan with all his heart.

I just had to come back in here to mention how pleased I am to see Patty holding her mother's hand. She looks quite devastated and is probably remembering less happy times with her parents and feeling quite guilty.

Wolfstar :-)

Quips are best, President Reagan was the best at that indeed.

Since the attention span of libs is so short, quips are the best.

I just surfed in time to hear Tom Brokaw inform the audience how Patty used to fight with her mother.

There are times when the word hate isn't strong enough to describe what I feel for the so-called mainstream media.

John 11:25, 26

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Life doesn't really begin til we reach the other side!

when the President opened his eyes for the last time, they were clear, not clouded.

I, too, recall a similar incident with my father-in-law. It was about 5 or 10 minutes before he took his final breath after suffering years from Alzheimers. We were all surrounding his bed, and his grandson arrived and said "Hi, Grandpa. It's ****** (his name)." We had all been softly talking to him, but on hearing that, my father-in-law, who hadn't had any kind of an expression on his face in about a year, suddenly got the widest, happiest grin on his face and held it for a few seconds. A few minutes later, he was gone. Perhaps that smile was for his grandson, or perhaps it was because, although he hadn't had the intellect or capacity to actively reach out and hold on to the Lord's hand for years, he was so happy to see that the Lord had held on to his anyway all that time.

Thanks, Miss Marple. I'm glad Patti reconciled with her parents some years ago. It's time for them to support their very brave mother, now.

Yes, she's an incredibly tiny woman. I had the good fortune to meet her in person at the library about a year and a half ago. When she stepped out of the limo, in heels, her perfectly done hair barely reached the top of the limo's roof.
