Ronald Reagan, one of the most popular U.S. presidents of the 20th century, transformed politics and government while ensuring that the United States would win the Cold War.

His death on Saturday at 93 stirred the nation's memories of the White House in the 1980s -- of eight years in which Mr. Reagan restored the power of the presidency, cut taxes and nurtured prosperity, strengthened the military and made unabashed patriotism fashionable again.

The greatest President of the 20th Century has left us. I don't think we'll ever see anyone like him again.

He's home now.

Yes, he's home. Maureen is with him, and he'll be waiting for Nancy when she passes.

Then after a proper period of rest at his Shining City on the Hill, he'll return... not because he has to, but because he wants to. To help mankind once again.

On Sunday morning , shortly after reading many of the threads dealing with the death of our beloved President , I went outside with a brew , sat in the garden , and looked out over the rice fields of Nakabaru and up at the heavy clouds rolling in over Mt. Waita way ...A deep feeling of loneliness settled in my soul . I felt as if I had lost a family member . I sat reflecting on all the wonderful memories I had of Mr. Reagan , including the time I worked for his campaign in Suffolk County , LI . Looking up at the bigwide sky , and the vastness of space beyond it , I thought about how great a man Mr. Reagan was , and how much he changed the world for the better . I thought about how seldom a man of such greatness and goodness like him comes along . From his humble beginning in Dixon , Illinois , to the White House is such an incredible story that could only happen in the great USA . He lived the American dream to the utmost , and into the beyond ...
