Bombshell revelations about Ronald Reagan...Tom Clancy made one of his own on C-Span today, plugging his new book co-written with Gen. Zinni. He claims that in about twenty years when certain material is declassified, it will become apparent that Reagan not only played on the weaknesses of the USSR to bring it down, but set out deliberately to destroy it. He believes that Reagan worked with Sec. Weinberger and CIA Director Casey, who "hated the Russians", to keep the USSR off-balance and destabilized. Most interesting was the supposition that Casey, a strong Catholic, made a number of trips to meet with the Pope who added his own bit of pressure from his position to help keep the Russian client-states in turmoil...sounds like something from one of his novels, but he says it was for real......

Reagan's greatest strength was his moral clarity, particularly as it applied to the constant struggle between individual Freedom and tyranny of the state over the individual.

There was no larger contrast than that between the "evil empire" and the ideals stated in our Declaration of Independence (which Reagan cited frequently).

The struggle between those two opposing forces (Freedom and tyranny) is never really over, and continues to this day.

Reagan did his duty to advance the cause of Freedom. All of us should follow his example and do our part.

Also, check this out:

Reagan Approved Plan to Sabotage Soviets

Many Patriots dream of tossing a monkeywrench into the infrastructure of tyranny, but it's going to be hard to top what President Reagan did in that regard:

"In January 1982, President Ronald Reagan approved a CIA plan to sabotage the economy of the Soviet Union through covert transfers of technology that contained hidden malfunctions, including software that later triggered a huge explosion in a Siberian natural gas pipeline"

..Reagan kept fine company and the world, today is better for it.

Carl Bernstein reported on this several years ago in Holy Alliance. Take a look at it - a very interesting read.

One paragraph from this article:

The key Administration players were all devout Roman Catholics--CIA chief William Casey, Allen, Clark, Haig, Walters and William Wilson, Reagan's first ambassador to the Vatican. They regarded the U.S.-Vatican relationship as a holy alliance: the moral force of the Pope and the teachings of their church combined with their fierce anticommunism and their notion of American democracy. Yet the mission would have been impossible without the full support of Reagan, who believed fervently in both the benefits and the practical applications of Washington's relationship with the Vatican. One of his earliest goals as President, Reagan says, was to recognize the Vatican as a state "and make them an ally."
