NEXT WEEK, THE BODY OF RONALD REAGAN will be flown to Washington for a state funeral. Following the ceremonies, the body will be returned to Caifornia. I imagine it has already been discussed and decided one way or the other, but speaking only for myself, I think it would be a fine gesture if Reagan travelled west on Air Force One.
W would have to be on board for the designation, but then again - he is the kind of man who would honor President Reagan.
I say go for it!
Id say thats the least we can do
Designatinon "Gipper One"
Me too, it would give GW a few hours to talk things out
with him if you know what I mean.
Tightening liberal jaws would be an added bonus.
I like to picture Ronald Reagan riding his favorite horse thru the skies of heaven. Looking down on America and wishing us well.
I say go for it!
I agree - go for it! It will drive the libs nust knowing that they don't dare say one word against it!
Great idea. Heading back west, do a flyover over Dixon, Ill.
I would have loved to see him taken east on a train through the heartland.
And how much was the tab for Air Force One, when clintoon left office for all the unnecessary trips?
If memory serves me, it was in the neighborhood of $250,000,000.
Spread the word. Maybe it can be made to happen.
If everyone here told 10 and each of those told 10.
That would have been awesome. However, the security factor looms large. Some nuts out there would try sabotage. Security is very strong around the funeral home where Reagan is resting.
I think this White House is thinking along the same lines as we are, however they make it happen. There's more than one 747 that gets used as AF1. Maybe they'll use one of them to get President Reagan to Washington, then Bush will accompany him on the way back to California on Friday, after the services in the National Cathedral.
It would be like him and fitting. I'm also wondering if President Bush will pick up Duchess Thatcher on the way home from Normandy, since she's indicated she wishes to attend.
Logistics this week around Sea Isle and the G8 (plus) summit are going to be incredible. I can see most, or all, of the heads of state accompanying Bush back to Washington on Thursday, after the last session, to be in Washington for the funeral services. Why not? They can probably get more work done on that plane than on Sea Isle, anyway.
Air Force One all the way for beloved President Reagan!
God Bless Nancy and Ronald Reagan. God Bless America.
Given the size of the entourage that will accompany Reagan's casket to and from Washington, DC from the Point Mugu Naval Air Station this coming week I'm sure that one of the two VC-25A's used for Presidential travel will be assigned to carry the group. It truly is fitting, too.
How about Bush (and his father) fly out to pick up President Reagan on AF1?
