He played the lead role co-starring with Doris Day in another Sports movie "THE WINNING TEAM " , the story of Grover Cleveland Alexander

I thought it was a great sports movie easily on a par if not better than most movies of that venue and era

I think they're already praying, though not to the same source of Wisdom and Power that the rest of us will be, and not for the same things.

They thought they were on a roll, that Bush was doomed and America was going to get the same kind of drubbing we got in Vietnam. And then the Iraqi's apparently succeeded in picking an interim government. And the "insurgency" fizzled out. And with President Reagan's passing the whole country was reminded who and what he was, who and what George Bush is, and who and what the dims were, are and will remain for the forseeable future.

Guard yourself. I think there's going to be a lot of pissed off lefties over the next couple of days. Watch for the polls to disappear from the news (as they tilt toward GWB). Watch for the news from Iraq to disappear from page 1 (as they fail to find enough bad things to report). Watch for the news about the economy to slip over to emphasize how bad a successful economy can be (causing inflation... oh doom!).

I was just saying that I saw the Lord's hand in the passing of Reagan at this exact moment - it give me shivers. I hope they get the point - all of them, friend or foe or indifferent. Between D-Day and Reagan's death on D-Day I do not see how Americas contribution to history or our struggle for freedom could be more highlighted.

We shall see. I watched about 40 of ABC last night and I was amazed at how respectful they were about Reagan. The senior editors must not have made it back from the Hamptons in time.

There was a quite amazing discussion of Reagan, the man and his legacy, on MSNBC last night. Chris Matthews had Pat Buchanan and Jerry Brown as guests for commentary. Brown was quite extraordinary in his ability to describe Reagan's strengths and positives. For Buchanan and Brown to agree was amazing to see.

Brown even offered a critique of statist totalitarianism. Extraordinary!

Brown and Buchannan on stage together - I am amazed to learn that Matthews has such a developed sense of humor. Brown is not stupid you know, he is just a lunatic, not really a socialist, just a lunatic. We are lucky the left got him as we could have just as well have been stuck with him.

It is amazing how the death of Ronald Regan has affected those on the left. When I learned of his passing yesterday, I honestly thought that there would be some quiet words by the news anchors at the end of the broadcasts, and it would pass away as a foot note to history. Instead I saw many of those same people who seemed to be so filled with hatred genuinely look filled with compassion.

The funeral will be a state one, and maybe the vision of the Great President laying in in the capital cathedral will awaken something in the public.

You aren't kidding about the exact moment. Wasn't the jump at around midnight, 60 years ago?

It appears that he died at the exact same time, with the time change, thousands were preparing to jump onto that beach. 60 years later.

There is some irony here. I've noticed a sort of..."Oh, my gosh, we all have to get dressed up and go to church." There is some awkwardness here. The media has to deal with covering prayers at a state funeral at the national cathedral in Washington. Gee, where does that leave the separation of Church & State crowd?

I thought the same thing. They also sang Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus" before the procession arrived. Very interesting.

I listened to the funeral on the radio at work. Thatcher's speech was powerful and moving. All in all, I thought it was a fitting tribute to a great president.
