Ronald Reagan and the Pontiff were partners in the defeat of the greatest power of evil this globe has seen. As one has died, the other is in failing health.
Thank God we've had these two men.

President Reagan, the greatest President of this century. I could listen to him speak forever and his inspiring words, manner and deeds will be honored and appreciated by both sides of the isle for decades to come.

To some, Reagan seemed the least complicated of men -- an open book that the country had completely read. However, he had the cunning to know the advantage of being underestimated. He was more inward than he seemed. And much tougher. The stricken fields of American and world politics are littered with those who did not anticipate the steel behind his smile. Very true.

As soon as the meeting was over, Reagan leaps out of his chair, pulls down the world map, and begins the real strategy session.
