Don't allow the media to spin Reagans death as they did his life. Go to the FR Reagan Vigils post and pledge to organize or attend a vigil in your area.

There ought to be a viewing in the Capital Rotunda, followed by a long, slow train ride back to California with a stop in Dixon, similar to Lincoln's ride home.

The one thing I am going to absolutely hate at Reagan's State funeral is the presence of (A) The Clinton's & (2) Jimmy Carter and thats only for starters.
It will also gall me to no end if Bill Clinton somehow ends up speaking at Reagan's funeral.
I sincerely hope that President Bush is able to have someone like Peggy Noonan help draft the eulogy that he will be giving at the funeral.
It is times like this that the true hypocrites like the left-wing liberals will come out of their caves and feign sympathy and sorrow in public and then talk of someone like Ronald Reagan in private spewing the most venomous hate you can imagine.
It may be all I can stand to watch but I will muddle through and just hope that those who truly mourn him will have the final say.

If everyone beholden to Reagan shows up there won't be enough space in D.C. to hold them all. There won't be enough space in the world, I'd imagine.

Making my plans now to head to D.C. for his laying in state in the Rotunda.

My wife is bound and determined to go there and pay her respects, even if she has to camp out in the open air to do it.

I grew up in the D.C. area and still have family there. I already called to let them know I would be driving in for the viewing.
I have never thought of doing something like this for anyone but family; somehow, Reagan feels like family to me - a political father and mentor.
For that reason I will pay my respects to this fallen beacon of hope.

I got my plane ticket for Wed this am. It has been on my Lifetime goals list for ten years to pay respects in person to President Reagan. At least I get to cross something off the to-do list...
