How is it that everyone BUT you thought President Bush did a terrific job, Hmmmm? Were YOU the only one to pick up on something we all missed?

I know you are a Bush supporter. That is why I said you were hypercritical, rather than accusing you of something worse.

Sometimes our emotions and life experiences cause us to mis-interpret things. I believe that is what has happened with you.

Well look at Bush Sr's talk. I'd *like* to see W say he believes in Reagans goals, and took him to heart.

He didn't really do that. I'd like to see that, but I know Bush has to work within the bounds of good taste and not capitalize on it. However, some sharing of ideas talk would be great.

Tomorrow will be plenty of time for more extended remarks...

His 'saved the world' line is something that I really appreciate.

"Fox" didn't say it.Tony Snow - great Bush supporter that he is(smile)said it.And like nearly all of the others on this thread I STRONGLYdisagree! I couldn't disagree more! It was beautiful and heartfelt. As is sometimes usual,a few of Reagan supporters love to bash President Bush and quite unfairly in my opinion.

I am not 'bashing' Bush. I just wish he was more Reagan-like. I know that's not possible. I love Bush as he is.

He has his own unique charisma which is great. I just hope he can display it more often. When President Bush is scripted, he doesn't translate it well. When he's off the cuff, he's among the best.

I just saw the clip and thought it was just fine. As I understand he had been in bed a couple of hours and was awakened with the news, although I'm not 100% certain I have that right.

Regardless, his words were steady, clear, and the Pres made continual good eye contact with the camera.

Their was a LOT of background noise during the remarks. Cameras perhaps, but distracting.

The Pres did fine with it. sheesh

Tony Snow called it generic?!

Bah

I think Tony's a nice guy, but I heard him punditing this morning about President Bush's press conference with Chirac, and he was off the mark then, too. He often bends over backwards to "be fair", meaning tries to be seen as criticizing "his" guy. Wrongly, more often than not.

I saw it too and I don't understand the criticism either. I know Bush is inarticulate and I'm sensitive to that when he speaks. I only saw the president's remarks once, but I surely saw nothing that would justify such concerns as Diddly Squat's. His worries are greatly exaggerated IMO.
