"The anchorwoman had to bring up the point, for no identifiable reason, that the house he and Nancy were living in was bought for them"

I wonder if when clinton goes to his maker, they'll mention the secret service agents protecting them had to make his house payments.

Once a snake, always a snake. CNN will be the freshest layer on the ash heap of history before you know it.

Yep. They're sliming Reagan again----even with his death. They are spineless! Right now I'm listening to some liberal reporter on WABC radio in New York saying:

".......you always like Ronald Regan----even when he was cutting your social security check."

This is the kind of defamatory hogwash we're gonna be hearing for the next 6 months. Might as well get used to it.

I'm sure CNN had it all planned way ahead, just waiting for this opportunity to put a negative spin on his life.

You are right - remember a couple years ago one of the wire services (AP?) or possibly it was CBS errantly put out their "Reagan Died" spiel and was forced to respond to the outcry by detailing how they had already prepared this kind of stuff ahead of time for all kinds of people in the event things come to pass.

Meanwhile on ABC, Sam Donaldson, in pre-prepared material, is getting his kicks in against the former President, "Reagan promised to cut taxes, increase military spending and balance the deficit - unfortunately it didn't turn out that way".

FNC feed is on just about every channel here in the NY metro area.

Except of course, for CBS.....

Shamelessly complaining about RR receiving speaking fees......not a mention of the impeached garbage getting $12 million for a book of fiction, nor his america hating wife getting $8 million for another book of fiction.

I had to rely on ABC, CNN, BBC etc for two weeks and almost went bananas, but take it easy: Can't you just hear that great man, with a smile in his voice and a gleam in his eyes:

Here they go again!

Godspeed Mr President.

I never watch CNN. Just happened to surf by (and then I left). There is a complete and utter lack of decency and civility these days. CNN is killing itself, and deservedly so. I turned off FOX too. I don't want to hear them go on 24 hours a day, either. Let Ronald Reagan rest, and give his wife some peace. I'm imagining that the public aspect of this is going to be a physically and an emotionally exhausting experience. If she's like many women who have been married 40 or 50 years, she may not be with us long, either.

I've lost both of my parents in the last 6 years. It was God's blessing that they were able to die peacefully at home. I'm so happy that the Reagans had this experience also.

Fox has taken a few swipes as well, usually though by a "talking head".

I saw that coming. I told someone that when the media ran their obits they would mention all the controversial elements of Reagan's political life. If Carter had died they would go on and on about his philanthropy and "peace making" and gloss over the fact that he flushed the country down the toilet. I loved the part about how he had no relationship with minorities. Uh, sure, the black middle class just grew at a greater rate than at any other time in history and more black businesses were started. I guess they measure racial progress in terms of how many times Clinton fake-cried at Martin Luther King speeches and pandered to the civil rights mob. They just can't stomach the fact that Reagan was one of the most popular presidents in history and that he did more than anyone to end the Cold War and make this country great. Screw 'em.

I came back from the store, and my wife told me the news. I just turned on the TV and, of course, it was about Reagan. I didn't know it was tuned to CBS.

The section I saw covered his alleged dottering in his last years in office. Then they moved on to cover the media's view that he was cashing in on his presidency after he left office ("His rich friends bought his home, but even though he paid him back, many regarded it as corruption..."). Then they rehashed Iran Contra for a while, and concluded the segment with a review of how unpopular he was in Europe.

I was watching it on my kitchen television which is on a shelf up by my ceiling. Only the fact that I am not Bruce Lee prevented me from putting my foot through it.

Concur..I wrote on another thread that, IMHO, Presiddent Bush should, of course, attend the ceremony in Normandy, in a few hours..but he should tear up his speech and read President Reagan's from 1984..

My above post covered my impressions of the CBS "tribute".

I won't watch another CBS show in a million years. (I can't think of any CBS show I watch now, but my previously unintentional boycott is now intentional.)

John King on CNN is at it again, calling President G. W. Bush Mr. Bush. John King is the King of calling the President Mr. Bush and I am sick of it.

John King, as a reporter, always looks like he is ready to go to sleep.

I have said it before many times that John King needs a good Freep and remind him that it is "President G. W. Bush" not Mr. Bush, sincere there are two of them.

Just thought of it but King will go nuts with Jeb Bush gets the office.

I can't get Fox here in my office. Has Fox News mentioned Iran Contra or the Beirut Marines? Is Fox the only network that will Respect this great man?

Not that I've seen. They're focusing on the President's great accomplishments.

CBS' Rather and Plante really hammering the legacy of President Reagan, NO LIBERAL BIAS!!!!

The lesson of the Reagan miniseries still fresh in their memories, no doubt.
