I have heard that with Alzheimer's, it's like you lose them twice - once when it sets in, and a second time when they finally die. In all cases I've heard the second time is easier than the first.
God speed, Mr. President. You were one of the few who make it to the top that truly loved this great country.

Is there some kind of group prayer Freepers could all do together?
I mean this is my prayer request- pray for the Reagans.

I first heard the news on the radio. I'd like to know the exact time of death. Did they delay the announcement to give the country time to prepare for it? It's always a shock when you hear bad news about a revered ex-leader like Ronald Reagan.

Reagan was one of the greatest Presidents, a great American, and a great man. We were all blessed by his presence on this earth. Rest in peace Mr. President.

God Bless you Mr. President, and God Bless America. Stand a little straiter America, and wave the flag.

I'm very sad. I remember voting for him in 1980.
I would have crawled over broken glass, rusty
nails or a mine field to vote for him. I couldn't
stand the Democrats -- now DemonRAT Party!
May God bless Ronald Reagan's family and
America at this critical time.

AWWWWWW that did it. I'm crying again! This is the first president that I cried over in my life. Now I know how people felt about JFK. I could never understand their feelings but now I do. When you love a president its like loving someone in your own family.

Du'ers are a bunch of Satans children in human form.
They hated Reagan like they hate Bush.
Bush has the same enemies as Reagan-Communists, perverts, and imbeciles.

Ronald Reagan was the backbone of our nation in troubled times.
To: ken5050
Well, Ken, in one sense you are right. But on another, you are wrong.
I am sad for the end of an era, sad because we won't see his like again, and sad for his family. I am certain that Nancy is sad, and I am, too.
But in the sense that he lived his life to the full, with honor, and that he is now released from the prison of Alzheimer's...you are also right.

God bless you, Ronald. Up in heaven, we will have perfect bodies and minds. Up in heaven, Reagan's Alzheimer's Disease will no longer cloud his thinking.
Maybe he'll be able to look down and see how sad the nation is that he's gone.

Thanks rdb3 for your words...you are quite right. But for a day or two let me water the seeds with my tears. The first President I remember was President Eisenhower. President Reagan is the first President I have grieved over upon their passing.
