ABC just announced :( Ronald Reagan was 93
I hope President Bush declares a national day of mourning and provides a federal holiday (for the funeral only). There was a past precedent for this: Clinton announced a one-day federal holiday when Nixon died. Ronald Reagan deserves the same level of respect.
I think it was serendipity that I was with a group of Polish and Cuban Americans the moment we heard of RR's passing. We passed a bottle of vodka around and held a toast in his honor.
pathetic.
even look "larger" by comparison
Oh dear :(
The left (cnn, democrats, cbs, abc, nbc, bbc) are at a loss because reflection of the gift of Reagan's Legacy shows who deficient the leftists are in what they offered the world.
Thanks for ping. I was in third grade when President Reagan was shot. The one thing I remember was all the teachers and the principal crying. I was so blessed growing up in West Texas with this man as President. He was all class.
I forgot to ping ya! I'm not thinking clearly today!!!
She got it. Suspended to the netherworld of non-FReeping.

Your bed is ready.
I will say what I think also. Frankly I think you know that the people on this thread are emotional and mourning a great man.Out of the blue for some unknown reason you chose to hurt those mourners with a really idiotic comment. Love between a husband and wife is not my business or yours. You flame this thread BABE, expect to get it back in spades. You might be happy with the nasties at DU.
He'll be missed. Reagan was the greatest president of the second half of the Twentieth Century, and perhaps the greatest of the whole century. Already people have come to see Reagan not just as an ideological spokesman, but as a statesman who served the country as a whole and acted in the best interest of our nation and our people. As with other great presidents, Reagan's heritage will become the common property of all Americans, and we will be a better country for it.
Ollie North was all choked up in his FoxNews interview on RR--so was Herschensohn. North's last conversation w/RR was a week before he was fired from RR's NSC; the President told North that he was "an American hero."
AND...to tell the truth in the hearings!
There are a number of threads on imdb.com that are pretty bad, too.
This makes Kerry look like such a small man by comparison.
Reagan had vision, charisma, wit, and character.
Kerry has to keep comming up with excuses for his flip-flops/
God bless Ronald Reagan and the United States of America. He was a great American. I'm certain that our God in which he so strongly believed has reserved a good seat for him.
what is it with "his prettiness" on FNC he seems to be looking for ways to imply Reagan did not win the cold war and was corupt. (iran/contra)
If I want that backstabbing I would watch CNN.
Nicely said, tapatio. A truly loving relationship is one where each brings out the best in the other. I believe that is the kind of love and respect Ronald and Nancy Reagan shared. (like my own parents had too, as a matter of fact)
...each of us is a piece of the main, a part of the clod; thus do not ask for whom the bell tolls--it tolls for thee...
