Yesterday, vehemently anti-gun Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)introduced S. 2498, legislation that would reauthorize the Clinton gun ban. The bill is being held on the Senate floor and could come up at any time

Correction. That should read:

Yesterday, vehemently anti-gun for everyone except herself Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)introduced S. 2498, legislation that would reauthorize the Clinton gun ban. The bill is being held on the Senate floor and could come up at any time

There. Much better, and more accurate.

Just sent this off ....

Hon. Sen. Judd Gregg
Hon. Sen. John Sununu

Greetings.

We would like to register our heartfelt and vigorous opposition to the renewal of the "Assault Weapons Ban" submitted by Sen. Diane Feinstein as S.2498.

Not only is this a frontal assault on the clearly numerated right of the People to keep and bear arms, it is difficult to understand what crime problem this is intended to address.

Furthermore, in the ten years since this law was passed, exactly what effect did it have on the crime or murder rate?

We believe the statistics show that it had NO effect.

We surmise that this is an attempt by the opposition party to embarass the Republican congressional majority and the President in an election year. After all, if they can frame this assault on the Second Amendment as a "Crime Bill", as they did ten years ago, it would be difficult to make a political case against them, especially with the news media doing all it can to assist any and all intrusive, big-government programs.

It never ceases to amaze us that the same people who can torture the Constitution to find a mother's "right" to kill a newborn infant, even as it is being born, in a manner not much different in pain or effect as the killing of Nicholas Berg, cannot see the plainly, clearly, unequivocally enumerated right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms in the Second Amendment to that document.

Yours most respectfully,
