Oklahoma's Republican Women's Clubs adopted soldiers from this Oklahoma unit and every soldier a box of items they needed. Our Cleveland County Republican Women's Club adopted six of the soldiers.

"Our Cleveland County Republican Women's Club adopted six of the soldiers."

Hmm...you've reminded me that I need to send something to someone in the 45th.

Additionally, I got to hear actor Gary Sinise on KABC radio here in Los Angeles last
night promoting a program to get school supplies to Iraq. Host Al Rantel (Okla. State U.
grad) had Sinise on for a full hour. Sinise seems to be cut from the other decent guy
from Malibu (aside from Mel Gibson), as he gave a very humble summary of his USO tours and
his charitable work.
The thread is over here:

Oh, and the working link to the charity Sinise works on is in post 14 on that thread.

I've headed up the adoption of 3 soldiers at my kids elementary school over the last 2 years. Although I live in a liberal la-la land the parents here go gaga over these people and I lovvve it.

Our last adoptee recently came home and talked to the kids. They gave him a standing ovation. What a rush!

His wish list...Send more beef jerky!
