H&K's web site has a link to several videos of this gun in action. In one, the H&K salesman loads a 100-round drum, and empties it in about seven seconds. One handed. I'll dig up the link here in a minute.
From an engineering standpoint, it looks like a well-designed weapon.

The M14 did all that very well for me except for changing colors. I would rather fight with that than the M16.

This article is dated. These weapons have already gone through testing with the Army at Fort Campbell. They're slated to start phasing in FY05 pending final approval sometime this year (if it hasn't happend already). Oh, and don't worry about buying them form Germany. A plant is opening to produce this weapon in Columbus, Georgia (near Ft. Benning).
