The Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal was "a moment of truth" for the United States as severe as the September 11 terrorist attacks, billionaire financier George Soros told a gathering of liberal activists yesterday.
"The picture of torture in Saddam's prison was a moment of truth for us," Mr. Soros said. "I think that those pictures hit us the same way as the terrorist attack itself. Not quite with the same force, because in the terrorist attack, we were the victims. In the pictures, we were the perpetrators and others were the victims."

I have a better suggestion where to place it, George Soros!
Hers a three second search result on the communist George Soros, http://www.theatlantic.com/issues/97feb/capital/capital.htm
Isn't America great !
Even billionaire Scum can bask in the glory of freedom earned by the blood of our patriots,
well at 73 , I trust 'ol George will be forgotten and rotting in a million dollar sarcophagus soon
It is comforting to know that a US senator from New york has such high regard for this commie

That is just plain the stupidest, most clueless thing I've heard in 15 years!
(15 years ago I was in line at the Seattle Int'l Film Festival & a guy behind me explained to his companions his big idea for preventing gun violence: Restrictions on bullets instead of on the guns themselves. His companions were impressed.)
It has been almost three years, but I still (and will always) remember where I was when I heard about the WTC attack and I remember what my reaction was - "this has got to be one of those 'War of the Worlds' type broadcasts." I listened for about 10 minutes before I started to believe it.
I don't remember where I was when I heard about Abu Ghraib (probably in front of my computer reading FR) and I can guess that my reaction was probably a combination of "yawn" and "so the Army has a few idiots in it - there's a shock (not)"
