This week, three Democrats on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to remove a small cross, but keep a large pagan goddess, on the official county seal. The vote was 3 to 2, Democrats in favor of removing the cross, Republicans in favor of keeping the cross.

The ACLU, which had threatened the board, was pleased, but millions of Los Angeles residents are not. Conservative Republican Supervisor Mike Antonovich is fighting for a re-vote and will bring up the matter again at the Tuesday, June 8 supervisors meeting. A change of heart of JUST ONE supervisor will make the difference. A flood of phone calls are needed to the three Democrat supervisors, telling them to "Keep the cross in the county seal. This is our history and our faith and you need to change your vote now!"

Thank you . I phoned all three offices yesterday. It's not so much the cross that is the issue to me it is that the ACLU is stampeding over every last shred of unrevised history and viciously attacking any symbol of God or Christianity.

Evidently Yaraslovski is the only one fighting back , all the others are on the ACLU side .
Burke came out on the radio and mentioned that it is just just the "religious fanatics "( I guess that is me ?) who want to keep this cross at any cost.

I get tired of liberals insulting people of faith and rest assured, the residents of Los Angeles County, where I live, aren't going to take Yvonne Burke's bigotry against believers lying down.

Well actually Los Angeles should be changed to "La Allah" being that they seem to have no problem mandating (yes mandating) the teaching of Islam in public schools. The Cali Legislature mandates that all 8th graders take a 3 week course in Islam, which includes adopting an Islamic name and garb. But a tiny cross on a seal that people probably didn`t even know about is Verbotten! That`s why I tend to call Cali Allahfornia now...The only other place that mandates the teaching of Islam is Islamic states in the middle east, usually the ones that have no problem making a bed for Al Qaida.

I just called Zev Yaroslavky's office and Gloria molina's office and told them I was offended by the name of their stupid town and that they really need to change it as the whole town is a violation of separation of church and state. I told them they need to change the names of a lot of their streets and several of their communities.

Maybe if enough people do that, they'll see how stupid the idea of taking the cross (which represents the Mission history of LA) off their seal.

Gloria Molina is in the Catholic district. By taking the stand against the cross she is taking a stand against the hispanic heritage of Los Angeles. this would be a good issue for a more conservative Hispanic candidate to use in a campaign against her. You might want to remind her of that.
