Hello,
Thought you'd want to know about Blackie since he hasn't been on line lately.
He had a bronchial infection & went the usual 7 days w/the anti-biotic. Early Saturday AM he had severe back pain, chills & was sweating profusely. He could barely walk but got into bed after taking a pain pill.
He was no better by 6AM so got him to emergency where he was given morphine & was running a fever. They took ex-rays but could find nothing wrong just the usual
bulging disks & arthritis damage he had over the years. Because of the lower back pain they thought it might be prostate but ruled that out too. He was admitted to the hospital & yesterday given an MRI. Turns out he has a bacterial infection in the spinal fluid.
A doctor came to see him about the options he had - like, a spinal biopsy to find out the type of germ it is, or, open his back up & drain the fluid (or whatever they do) fix the damaged discs. It was up to him. He chose the first one. As it turned out they found the type of germ it is & didn't have to do a biopsy & started treating him w/penicillin.
I talked to him this AM & he didn't know what time it was & didn't know if he'd had eaten yet or not he's so full of pain medicine. Early today the doc was in said this has to be monitored & may have to stay in the hosp. several weeks. I'll talk to his doc shortly & find out for sure what's going on.
This infection was probably caused by the infection he had in this lungs.
Man that is a non trivial item....
nope it sure isn't
God bless FReeper Blackie.
Hope he will get better real soon
Thanks, Tonk. Continued prayers for blackie.

Prayers for Blackie from Ct.
GET WELL SOON, Blackie!!! WE MISS YOU! We are thinking of you and praying for your quick recovery. *HUGS*
I believe that with this in mind, you will see a fairly even number of trades from one side to the other. However, I'm pretty sure that housing prices in the conservative half will skyrocket; demand will go up even without government subsidies. People on the 'left' half will start realizing they are getting soaked in taxes, and the savings alone might make for a few 'converts'.
But I would be sure, if I was in charge, to prevent those carpetbaggers from 'spamming' border communities with transients who want to leech the benefits of our conservative society, newcomers would not be allowed to vote until they established citizenship as indicated by living on our territory for a minimum of two years.
To be sure, I suspect a few on our side might sneak over to score some of the cheapie socialized health care and what not, but I suspect a few tastes of that will be about as good as free coffee at a rescue mission; you get what you pay for.
Our side would prevail. I'm sure of it. I believe in 20 years time, it might be necessary to construct a fence to keep the "illegals" out as they start to desperately escape the by-then rampant socialism that will run amok on the liberal side. We would offer asylum to those seeking release from communist oppression, but we don't want to create an underground illegal alien economy. After all, if we did, why bother changing from the current state of affairs; that's what we got now!
But enough; I've put more blab on the subject here than I have at my own site at www.twoamericas.us! I can't help it, it's fun here!

Sunday night really got to Blackie.
He was very depressed.
We think it's because he's pretty much off the pain medication.
There is still some pain in his back & last
night he ran a fever and again had the chills.
This has been a horrible infection he's had,
imagine being hooked up to penicillin as well as still having congestion in his lungs.
He gets breathing therapy 2 times
a day & 24/7 of anti-biotic.
However, the old dear has me running over to his side in the mornings with
CRISP BACON,
Buttered Raisin Toast & a pot of French Roast Coffee. Needless to say his
spirits have risen
to new heights!
Amazing what a full tummy of goodies will do. . .
I bought 2 "coolers" today along with those frozen ice things you put in to keep things cold.
I'll rotate these daily with yogurt, Mt. Dew, V-8 juice, sharp cheddar & pepper jack cheese,
and boiled egg for good measure.
I enclosed two delicious cookies, afraid
he'd reject these as being too "hi-carb" but he gobbled them up!
Our good neighbor today trimmed all the bushes we have in front.
I'll have
to learn to run the lawn mower pretty soon, though I keep praying this rain will continue. . .
I printed out 14 pages of the very best of wishes & prayers from all his gang at FreeRepublic & as he read, got teary eyed.
He feels very humbled. He's loved talking
on the phone to all who have called him & is straining at the bit to get back on line, ha ha
he'll have to wait
I'm afraid!
Anyway, his spirits are high again & appreciate the prayers you all are sending his way.
He sends you all his love & gratitude
My thanks you all too! Barb
