he should have been fired after 9-11

I disagree, with an ACT OF WAR having just been perpetrated on our soil, the BLAME game was furthest from anyone's mind. Action as you suggest would have just confused everything at a time when we could least afford a change in leadership at the CIA.

Unfortunately, that SPIRIT of a UNITED FRONT in the WOT, is a thing of the past.

again, look at the polls. then tell me the negative media spin doesn't have an effect. it may not effect us here, we see through it. but most americans, and most of the independent and undecided voters who will decide this election, get their news from the mainstream media.

To dump Tenet at this time is an indication of some serious rift. What would have been the harm of him staying on 150 more days? Were his "personal & financial" reasons so acute that he couldn't have stayed 150 days?

The CIA is run by Ivy Leasge Democrats.

I thought they mined the Jesuit schools like BC, Holy Cross, and Georgetown for CIA guys.

Tenet has wanted to leave for sometime according to FNC and others.

You are reading far too much into Tenet's leaving and the terrorist threats this summer. WHen was the last time we went more than 2-3 months WITHOUT terrorist threats?

Tenet will be loyal to the president and country. Given the president's father's background with the CIA, I think there is loyalty on all sides in this issue.

Absolutely right.

"There is NO indication that Tenet will work with or for Kerry or that he is disloyal to the president."

Let's make a side "I told you so" bet. Whomever ends up being wrong needs to write a vanity thread proclaiming the prophetic prowess of the other. I am game, how about you?

I assert that as a minimum he will have a critical book about bush prior to the election.

I also believe that there will be some quid pro quo (sp) after the election should Kerry be the president.

Will GW appoint his Dad as CID director??

In light of what is happening, that may not be a bad idea.

"Hey, did this have anything to do with Bush seeing a lawyer yesterday?"

My bet is that GWB discussed the situation with his personal attorney, then asked Tenet for a resignation (for some reason we have yet to hear).

Not really. He'd vacate his seat in AZ only to have an appointment by a Dem gov. Granted, he's a RINO, but we need numbers.

LOL, Can't have him! He's needed to run against Shrillary in '06.

Why not? Let him do a good job for 2 years, WITH full access to all that "raw intel". Old Horse Face will then be sweating bullets about what Rudy has on her and the Slick and it will make her 10 year old FBI file stuff look pretty anemic. Life is good.

You are correct. In fact heads at the CIA and State illegally blocked funds to the INC and others you just happen to oppose UN "involvement"(corruption).

Some of these "diplomats" etc. were beeing paid $$$ by Arab governements, and combine that with leftist attitude, and you get the Clinton administration.

Gooodbye Tenet!

Clinton Spent More Time with Lewinsky than Tenet
April 14, 2004

At the top of the program, I wondered, "I'll bet if you look at the records, they'll show that Bill Clinton spent more time with Monica Lewinsky than he did the CIA director. I will bet you that that can be established. If he met with Tenet twice, and that's the story, if he met with Tenet personally twice during Tenet's career as CIA director when Clinton served, then it's easily ascertainable that he met with Lewinsky much more than that."

How did Tenet try to "stick it" to Bush for the yellowcake thing? And where, exactly, do you think the Plame investigation is leading?

Wayne Simmons, former CIA operative, on Fox - hates to see him go. Michelle Malkin on now, thinks it has been long time coming.

Wallace was just on Foxnews and discussing ---why--- doesn't think he was forced out...but there is a rumor that SOS Powell was unhappy and pressing for an internal investigation of the CIA .

we can only hope the dimmydems will foul their chances in the election by playing partisan politics with this issue.

Now Wayne Simmons, formerly with the CIA, on phone on Fox saying he thinks Chris Wallace is right.

He says Tenet had incredible problems he needed to fix (Bridget Quinn says "you mean fixing things from the Clinton years" and he says "YES"). He says Tenet did an incredible job of building back up and he does not think Tenet was forced out.

Now Michell Malkin on. She's saying this is not a surprise--just the day or timing.
