I'm not sure that there *is* a right to free speech in an airport, any more than there is in a shopping mall, ballpark, etc., at least with regard to public demonstrations.

There is a big difference between free speech and harassment.

Anyone who critisizes the government is now a "security threat".

Where have you been? It's been like that for a coupole of years now.

Ward, who was returning home to Albuquerque, N.M., from a Libertarian convention in Atlanta . . .

Figures.

Causing a disturbance like that in an airport is nothing short of completely idiotic.

Just try to cause any trouble at all at an airport and see what happens to you. From the sounds of it this idiot was still in the concourse where the planes actually are which makes what she did even more stupid.

You don't harass people at an airport, or anywhere else for that matter, and expect nothing to come of it.

If it wasn't an intentional stunt then she should be evaluated mentally to make sure she's not a danger to herself or others.

"She passed around the poster, that had messages to elect Libertarian Aaron Russo president and to stop a possible military draft.

Isn't it going to be a little difficult electing Aaron Russo as the Libertarian president when someone else .. Michael Badnarik .. go the nomination?

Sounds like she had one, since she was in transit.

"Welcome to Amerika."

Isn't that cute ... must be reliving your "Days of Rage" and Weathermen Underground childhood, eh? Such an adorable flashback, spelling "America" with a "k".

"I watched some of the Libertarian convention on C-SPAN."

They must have needed something to fill the time between "Bowling for Vegetables" and "Wheel of Fish".

And, besides, how were they able to fit the camera team inside the phone booth with both of the Libertarian delegates?

Yes, and all of us at FR have already been sent to re-education camps.

If airports can ban pan handling in their hallways, they can kick her out, too.

The story doesn't clearly state this, but by reading the story closely, you can infer that she was there in the terminal connecting from Atlanta to DFW to Albuquerque.

I hope they kicked her to the curb, just like I hope they kick out the Hare Krishnas and any other freaks who take advantage of the fact that people have to congregate at airports in order to travel and thus can't avoid these types of unsolicited obnoxious behaviors.

Nahh. that will only happen if Kerry is elected President.

Good ole GW wouldn't do that to his biggest fans.

For the record, the brown shirt thing is old.

For the record, supression of dissenting views was their stock and trade. If the shirt fits....

You mean like the gal who cussed
out Clinton when he suddenly made
a beach appearance where she was
walking on the shoreline?

After the Army Rangers died in
Somalia for lack of tanks from
the Clinton Admin., she saw him
at a distance & yelled, "Hey you
*$%*#&$%#*&%...those boys died".

Clinton was visibly angry, and
the Secret Service arrested her.

Oh, wait...that was much more than
2 yrs. ago, wasn't it?

And George W Bush had nothing to
do with either incident.

Can that be right???
