This definitely falls in the "no big deal" category. Whether Bush consulted or retained an attorney (no real difference) is immaterial. He has a right to seek legal counsel from someone that he KNOWS cannot be forced to disclose their communications. It's just the smart thing to do.
The only people who have their knickers in a twist about this are 1) the Bush haters or 2) the lawyer haters (the "why does anyone need a lawyer if they haven't done anything wrong?" crowd). To me, this is MUCH ado about nothing.
Now, if you told me that the lawyer he had consulted was Larry Klayman .....
