Thanks so much. I was on stand-by and caught it in #15. What a barn burner!
That's *all* you were able to take away from this? I might suggest that there is quite alot more to this speech than any characterization of Islam.
And he's right, by the way, in that this really is first and foremost a battle between competing visions of political power. Islam is just one of their tools.
That there are basic flaws and problems with Islam in general... yes, I agree... but there's no point going out of our way to inflame 1.2 BILLION muslims all at once.
Thanks for posting the transcript.
An infintessimally small number of the world's 1.2 + billion practicing Muslims are engaged in violent activity. We don't run our American foreign policy based on bigotry.
You think that poster's "Light 'em up George" tagline reveals anything about his peaceful and loving nature?
Good on you, Mr. President. When my brother graduated "The Zoo" in 1969, President Richard Nixon gave the address.
Thanks, Howlin!
One of the best speeches President Bush has given. I enjoyed his in your face attitude to the doubters, the appeasers and the internationalists among us.
Great speech!
In case you missed this..it was great!
You are welcome..
I nneded it. I was getting depressed from the beating he was getting from the media and even some that should be on his side.
The Fox Allstars ( the panel on Britt Hume's
news program thought he should have given it a week ago.. )
The elites seem mostly to be good for constant whining!!!
marker bump
An interesting speech. Unfortunately, the Cadet Wing was up in the top sections, and the sound wasn't too good. President Bush went a little long, and it almost started raining. Graduation is always fun (at least, the twice I've been...). Got my new rank today, 730 days!
Congragulations.
730 days???
"Small number of the world's 1.2 billion Muslims engage in that activity..."
Well, where were the 1.1 billion peaceful Muslims when your violent, tiny minority of violent Muslims took hostages in Iran, and 25 years later killed their liberators in Iraq?
I mean, I don't see any massive street demonstrations against terror in Muslim countries...
The folks who openly challenge the terror monkeys in their midst end up being hung from lamp-posts if you hadn't noticed.
These people are not free to demonstrate.
Well, they seem to find the time to demonstrate against infidels like All Stars on steroids after Friday prayers each and every blasted week.
I have no more energy for this subject.
It's not a matter of time, it's a matter of choice. They have no choice if they want to live.
Feelings of distrust toward arab muslims or pessisism that they can get their asses up out of this cult-of-death fixation aside, the bottom line message to the Arabs is this: whether you are a religion of peace or not, there is no effing way you will defeat us - if it ever comes down to a choice between you being on the verge of killing millions of our innocents or our annihilating you, it will be the latter... so here's your chance to become a real 'religion of peace'... but it's your last chance"
