This mayor apparently was expecting some kind of graft...if thats what he's wanting maybe Kerry IS his man.

Since President Bush’s move to Crawford, renewed interest has spurred downtown growth once again.
Its the same game with the liberals- all about *ME*. If the mayor had any sense at all, he'd realize that his *constituents* are better off today because of the Western Whitehouse and extra tourism dollars.
Typical liberal BS. The liberal blames the government for why their life stinks.

Crawford needs a mayor that can actually see the forest for the trees.
What a dumbsh**. Like all the mementos and crap they are peddling that says "HOME OF GEORGE W BUSH" doesn't help the town economy.

Especially considering the fact that the President brought an entire new industry into Crawford -- Tourism! If the mayor can't make improvements to the town despite that, then shame on him.
The Former Mayor of NYC Ed Koch is voting for W, so put that in your cowboy hat and smoke it......

That was the old mantra. Regardless of who is president not everyone will be better off. Some tend to hold themselves back because they expect others to make their lives more simple. Perhaps the good mayor is one of these. As for better off, it was Bill Gates and the "dot-com" boom of the 90's that made people better off, not Bill Clinton, yet I'll be the mayor didn't vote for Gates for president.
Another case of ....open mouth insert foot.
People run for office for 2 reasons:
1. Make a difference
2. Get power

Given that the gentleman is black, there was a 95% chance that he was a dim, thus there should be little interest in the fact that he is following the party line.
In Texas, mayors are all elected on nonpartisan ballots in off years. If a mayor is a "Democrat," such is his statement of allegiance, but not a ballot phenomenon. There are more Democrats in TX than many of us seem to think, and they expect to return to the majority in 2006.

The Kerry campaign recently listed Campbell as one of 100 black mayors around the country - seven of them Texans - who support the Massachusetts senator over President Bush. But the campaign has not focused particular attention on the endorsement.

Tourism is up. Sales are up. Sales tax revenue is up as is hotel use. More income for the community.
If the town is not better off for the increased traffic then the mayor must be doing something wrong.
