Torando just reported in Arlington..100 MPH gust measured by local weather guy..damage reports coming in
I also have family in the area. Praying for those in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
Me too.
Ping.
Hope you're holding on tight.
Wow, that's a monster.
...and they say everything in Texas is bigger!!!
That day we were watching the Indy 500 on our local NBC affiliate out of Waco which is where the storms developed. They could actually see the tornadoes from the studio and watched as several went tracking by over open country. The storms moved south down I-35 and hit Jerrel and later did damage in Austin.
My son just called from a N. Dallas (Central Expressway) restaurant where he works. Power off and high wind. I think they will be OK. Just need to hunker down. Just another lovely summer evening in N. Texas. Those who live here know what I mean. *grin*
Maybe it will skirt by. Praying for them. I tried to get a hold of my aunt in the Sampson Park area but no answer. I called my mom (in Whitney). She said the phones may be out because of downed lines.
No rotation where my son is off Park Lane. Just high winds and rain so far per local Fox News.
Everything seems to be tracking to the south, but not much movement in past several minutes....
well the tornado warning exspired..
Mansfield w/o power. Another storm coming up over Jacksboro. Lots of rain and hail. Extremely high wind, but no rotation throughout....All of Northern Tarrant now out of danger. Southern half still intense... Southeastern Dallas County getting nailed now. Moving into Kaufman Co. N. Dallas about out of danger....
Wow! Tons of family in Rockwall... Looks like they're getting hit now. Prayers for *all* our FReepers up there as well!
And from the direction it's taking (including Bryan), I guess I better go out and close the patio umbrella now so I won't have to mess with it at 4-5:00 AM! Being in the woods surrounded by Big trees really isn't so cool in one of these kind of storms.
Thanks for the ping, TC.

DFW color radar loop
looks like a massive microburst..widespread power out...cant get news feed..local guy was reporting 97 MPH measured winds..roof off houses..in addition to that tornado
Just what we need after last night, another freaking storm!
It looks like Corsicana is going to get a piece of this storm in about 30 min. They'll get alot of wind and rain, but it doesn't look like any tornadic activity. They will be wet but OK. :) I'll update.
You're in Bryan? I'm just south of Waco. Looks like it might miss us and stay East of I-35 headed towards Bryan/College Station. Last night was interesting enough -- I was praying for sleep tonight, lol.
