A North Side mother was charged with drunken driving after an accident that injured three of her children, one critically.
Veronica Garcia Veloz, 42, of the 1600 block of Howard, was in serious condition Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, and her daughter Nancy, 11, was in critical condition there, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Two other children, Karla, 10, and Paola, 8, were in good condition at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, a nursing supervisor said.
It's just a shame that these children were victims of a bad mistake on the part of their mother,'' said Illinois State Police Sgt. David Tikusis.
Veloz was driving south on the Edens Expy. in a Toyota Tercel south of Golf Road about 8:15 p.m. Saturday when she sideswiped a Chevy SUV and both cars wound up in a ditch, State Police said.
Her two younger daughters were thrown from the back seat, said State Police Acting Master Sgt. John Coffman.
Veloz was charged with drunken driving and was driving without insurance, he said
Now naturally as we've been told, if illegal alien MOM had a valid DL she wouldn't have been driving DRUNK and her kids would have been buckled up!
So now, the owner of the SUV's insurance will go up and WE will be paying for ALL the medical bills!
Yup and because WE have to pay the medical bills, WE have laws demanding sea belt use.
When the hell are we going to wake up and kick these invaders out for good, and let the ones who commit crimes rot in prison? They don't have any respect for our laws, or even their own kids. I see the little ones in my neighborhood playing in the street unsupervised at all hours of the day and night.
Why didn't the SUV get out of the way?
I am with you, though. Get them the heck out now before it's too late.
Bad mistake?????? More like terminal stupidity. Hopefully for her daughter Nancy, that won't be literally true.
Oh puh-leeeeze!!!
