60 Minutes at it Again (Showing Photos of 800 Killed in Action in Iraq)

60 Minutes is at it again, trying to sway public opinion against the war, and against President Bush. Andy Rooney's segment (old senile fart that he is) showed a photo of every single soldier that died.
60 Minutes, and CBS, is beyond disgraceful... They're doing SKerry's dirty work, at no cost.

I wish a brush fire would start up in Rooney's eyebrows.

I hate to say it, but we know you are a fraud. There are no Republicans in NY. That's a well-known fact.

And they're playing the ending music of the movie "Platoon" to boot. I knew it sounded awfully familiar.

Give them a break! They don't have the air time to show the 3,000+ killed in the World Trade Center.

Speaking of 60 minutes - I have not been on all weekend from working but stopped at my mom's and she was fuming. Apparently she was watching Cspan to see the WWII Memorial ceremony and they were supposed to have Journalists from the war- Al Neuharth (lives in our town) was on so she watched it- only to have Mark Wallace come on and say something obnoxious like "At least in this war we knew what we were fighting for - not like Iraq which is JUST WRONG!" I didn't see it but it made her turn the tv off- she was still mad- did anyone else see it? She was a WAVE- and my Dad was in the Navy as well - she said Al sat there speechless (smart move) and that Mark Wallace admitted he never was near any action. She wanted to know how to complain about him- I told her you guys could help ---One main objection was it was not about him and his opinion- it was about the Memorial-

I wouldn't necessarily go that far. It is, after all, Memorial Day weekend. I don't think it's inappropriate to show the photos of our fallen heroes.

President Bush has GOT to speak directly to the people, while implicity letting Americans know that the media is misrepresenting the facts on the ground. He MUST get the message out.
He can't rely on Cheney, Frist, and Hastert to do it- these guys are absolutely INEPT and DISGRACEFUL.
For all of you Cheney apologists, please, don't waste your time. He's valuable as an advisor, and still could be under President Bush's second term, but his silence has been deafening. He comes out every couple of months and reads (yes, reads, nothing ad-hoc, or off the top of his head) a few lines and goes back into hiding. No one would be happier than I if he assumes another role on the ticket.

Naw, I am friends with some. Kinda like the 8 Jews living in Afghanistan. They are in hostile territory, sorta like Israel.

Is Sean Hannity not a Republican? Apparently his Republican wife lives in New York too. New York, according to the latest polls, is only 89% Democrat and all of 4% Republican (self-admitted conservatives in the Republican Party who intend to vote for Bush). That's actually up from just 3% Republican in 2000.
I actually made up those numbers, but I think that they are close to the truth.

I am disgusted by your advocacy of the suppression of facts which undermine your cause or candidate, and address the act which you condemn, the showing of the pictures of those killed in Iraq. It is a good thing to know what this war is costing in dollars, missed pay in U.S. jobs, lost lives, lost limbs, etc. and the loss to families broken up for long periods of time. Just because you are cavalier about the losses to and of others doesn't make all conservatives as callous and biased as you.

Gary Trudeau, in Doonesbury 5/30, lists the US soldiers killed in Iraq. By golly, if Trudeau can do it, so can 60 Minutes!

If then president Bill Clinton had done as he should have as a sitting president, at least some of this might not have happened, especially 9/11. Clinton like John Kerry believes in
appeasing/being blackmailed rather than standing up to terrorists bullies. Here is a remark made by
Bernard Lewis (complete story) Question: "Did Osama bin Laden expect the U.S. to respond as it did to the attacks?"
Ans: No. Bin Ladens very clear from his various writings and broadcasts, its not so much hatred as contempt. The message that comes again and again from him and others is that Americans have gone soft. They are pampered. They cant take casualties. Hit them and they will run. And then they use the same litany: Vietnam, Beirut, Somalia. The swift response to September 11 brought some reconsideration.
What Im afraid of is that subsequent statements and actions may have brought them back to their earlier evaluation.
